The motor has a diode pack of resistors built into it so either this is defective or the brushes in the motor are sticking ,the motor is under the passenger side dash on models with AC ,pull the cover down and with the engine running and the blower turned on thump it with your fist ,it often works .
To install the new heating element the seat covering will need to be pulled apart so that new heater can be installed. you will need to ring the fastener and carefully pull covering back, to have room to remove old one and wires.
First, remove the top cover. Inspect for a varmint nest. If clear, manually spin the fan. If it does not you either have a broken rotor that is binding or you have a bad bearing.
If it spins freely, apply power- see if the motor runs with the top cover removed. If YES, replace the top cover. Its possible that the top is binding the fan. If NO, the start capacitor is defective. The cap on R115 is internal and is not servicable.
Hi, after letting it cool down the heater should reset it's self and work again... If it does not then it is no good anymore as the thermal switch is not replaceable...
when most ceramic room heaters stop working, the blower is clogged with lint and dust from floor use . get an air compressor, or a can of air. take unit outside using a small head philips driver remove screws while laying on an old sheet .disassemble cover carefully and blow dust away from you and clean blade without bending with a toothbrush in vinegar water not gettting any liquid on the electrical parts. reassemble. thanks karl
