Same problem. I bought a TV series, brand new DVDs (Six Feet Under, never opened, brand new)...put the first one in the DVD side and once loaded, it stops every 30 seconds or so...makes it impossible to watch the show with it 'starting and stopping' every few minutes...Some DVDs play perfectly as they have for the past 5 years...lately, during the past 6 months..I can almost predict when the DVDs won't play right. Another series (Gilmore Girls) did the same 'start and stop' so I had to watch the entire 6 discs on a portable DVD player...You suggested to the previous poster to "Open the top cover and remove the laser housing cover"...what are you saying? Unscrew the casing of the entire unit? I think not....I don't see any way to pull out the DVD drawer to get a closer look inside...I tried sticking a very fine brush in there to see if I could get some dust or dirt out...That didn't make any difference. If the laser lens actually needs to be cleaned I don't see how I am going to get inside...If I were to unscrew the entire outer shell and pull it apart aren't I going to screw up the video part of it? Why do some DVDs play fine and others not? The older ones seem better than new ones..I am perplexed...Does Go-Video or Sonic/Blue have a website?? Thanks for any help. Most sincerely, Diane
