Try this: Settings>Sound & Display>Remove the check mark beside Roaming Tone. Sorry if this doesn't work. I Goggled "Samsung Cell Phones How do I get my phone to stop saying Verizon Wireless every time my phone rings". If not, go to Samsung.com and ask if there is a way to remove the phone company identification.

Why does my driod go right to voicemail

It could be that the phone is delayed in ringing. Try placing a test call and see how many times it rings in the phone you are calling from before it rings on the phone. Then you can determine if the phone is delayed in ringing. If you hear ringing and the phone rings once and then it goes to voicemail then there may be a setting on your phone that is causing this.

What does it mean when they say you can flash a phone from one company to another example flash from Verizon wireless to cricket?

"Flashing" is the process of rewriting EEPROM (electronically erasable and programmable read-only memory). In this case, it means you can reconfigure your phone so as to stop paying Verizon for its use and start paying Cricket instead.

How can I change the number of rings before the voice mail starts

This is actually set by the provider.

Verizon Wireless for example sets it for 30 seconds (or about 6 rings).

Some providers can change the amount of time, and others can not (depends on their system).

This can seem different to the enduser, because if the phone is not connected to a tower or if there is a hiccup, it may only ring once or twice on the phone itself.

Each time a call comes through, it audible states: verizon wireless. Went to the verizon shop today and less than helpful person went into sounds settings and put it on "ring only" in caller id readout. ...

You need to go to the Menu option and than go to Sounds, Go to Service Alerts and than go to Call Connect and turn that to Off and go to ERI and turn that to Off. That should solve your problem.

Incoming calls ring 3 times at main extension, then phone stops ringing at main & rolls over to ring at all other phones. Phone rings once at those extensions before going to voicemail. (We have...

Your voicemail thinks that it is ringing six times. The time that it takes to transfer to the extensions counts. Whiloe it seems that there is a lapse the system actually is using enough time to ring six times total. If you need longer ring time at the extension, take in account the transfer time and set it to pick up after 8 or 9 rings. It will actually only ring six. You just have to trick the system a little.
