Anyone anygood troubleshooting a Whirlpool Washer?

Thats a problem. Did you have the washer laid on it's side when moving? Timer switch would be first look. Hot water not working, but cold is? Mmmm.. Water inlet is pretty simple no real mechanical parts except intake valve for each inlet. Valve could be plugged or stuck closed on hot intake. Temp switch could be bad and that would cause the water intake to shut.I guess, but not usually a problem unless old machine. Make sure the fuse in control panel is intact. Underside of washer is a relay switch called wigwag. If it is bad nothing will cycle, easy fix 10 minutes and $15 in most cases. But check out before jumping to solve. All ways check cheapest parts first. Lid switch would also cause the no start and spin cycle problems.

Trying to locate the belt on a Whirlpool washer

Hi:
Your washer does not have a belt. It has a transmission, and they seem not to fail very often. Usually, the problem lies with the timer or some other switch. What exactly happens when your spin cycle comes around? Normally, after the wash cycle, the machine stops, then the spin cycle starts in the opposite rotation. The first thing that happens is the water is pumped out, then as the speed increases, the spinning throws the rest of the water out of your clothes. If your machine does pump down the water, but doesn't spin fast, then you might have a transmission problem, but if it also fails to pump out the water, you could have a timer or switch problem, as some machines won't spin with the lid open, and if the switch is broken, the machine thinks the lid is open.

Water not draining out w/ spin cycle

sounds like water may be going out but no spin in last cycle lean washer back and ck underneath for oil leak on top off transmission is a silver colored disk shaped object this is part of clutch if there appears to be a lot of oil on it good chance there is oil on clutch also causing it not yo spin..also ck to see if basket spins after short pause at end of rinse cycle ..start a rinse cycle at setting on timer with lid shut allow to run undisturbed ..once agitation stops in rinse timer should stop then start motor back up to drain ..there should be another short pause then washer should start spinning if does not pause suspect suspect timer if it does pause but doesn't start spinning suspect transmission..remember allow washer to advance by itself DO NOT RAISE LID TO CK..a small load of clothes will let you know if washer has spun

I had the same problem in october- my had a bad wiring harness, some board problem, and a bad sensor. if it hadn't been under warranty the cost of parts alone would have been over 1000bucks.
