This happens from time to time with these routers. It happenned to me with a Linksys and I found that the power unit in the router failed. One thing you could do is try a couple of different wall sockets or see if another adapter might work. Is your Netgear new enough to get replaced by the store?

Routers do die - especially if they get overheated. If it's less than a year old, it's under warranty.
Try plugging router into different AC source. If still dead, then either the AC adapter or the router may
need replacing.

Their support has been helpful to me in the past, see if they can help troubleshoot.

Lost security key for netgear router WNR834Bv2

Have you checked the sticker on the router? Sometimes they actually print the security key on a sticker usually on the back or on the underside of the router.

You can also get to the routers internal settings, which will allow you to see or reset the security key, by plugging your PC directly into the router and typing in:192.168.0.1 in your browsers address bar. This should take you into the logon screen for your router.

Try resetting and then reconfigure the router.

The default PW = passwordYou can now change the default admin password and configurethe wireless settings.

As per the information received it indicates that your router is rebooting intermittently. This clearly indicates fault with the router. I would recommend you to replace the router.

Netgear WNR834Bv2 failed - powerlight is off, but all other lights are on solidly incl the router and wireless lights (the latter solid, not blinking) and all four ethernet port lights, despite nothing...

If you haven't tried using the reset button, should be an explanation how to use it on the router in the manual, try that.
Also, try a replacement power supply to the router, if you can get hold of one. As this maybe faulty.
However, likely faulty router, maybe due to power surge, due to lightning/bad weather.

Problems with my netgear wireless n- router model WNR834Bv2

Has your router been reset/rebooted recently? It sounds like it's been set to send wireless. Or it's possible you didn't secure it with encryption or a password on the route and someone got into it and changed the settings. Try rebooting it first (unplug power cable for about 5 minutes, plug back in) if that doesn't work, try loggin into the router with it's IP address and check the wireless settings. If that doesn't work, there should be a pinhole on it somewhere for the reset button, us a paper clip to press it for 5 to 10 seconds and this will reset the router to factory settings.

I'm unable to see the SSID Broadcast on WNR834Bv2 even though it's enabled. I've tried rebooting, resetting the router, Turning SSID on or off, nothing. All the lights are in the right place, and only...

Are BOTH the top two boxes ticked under "advanced wireless settings" ?

Having a name in the basic wireless settings box does not mean it cannot be hidden I have my SSID set under basic but hidden under advanced this is a small security measure on my part.
