I Have a Marvel wine cooler Model # 6SDZE100. The unit works perfectly fine except It makes a rubbing noise that happens approximately once an hour. The noise only last for about 3 seconds

Nothing to worry about. Make sure the fan isn't hitting the shroud around it although it is likely to be like a computer fan?

The beverage and wine coolers use small fans inside the units to circulate the air, force cold air into the unit, and exhaust hot air out...

Why does my wine cooler run too cold?

If after adjusting your thermostat to desired temp and is still cooling. The thermostat is bad or your relay is bad
If you disconnect the thermostat and the compressor stops it most likely a bad thermostat
If you disconnect the relay from
The thermostat and it stay running it is the relay. It is sticking
If possible store you wine somewhere else and shut the unit down and unplug for 10 to 20 minutes this may cause some melt of condensation some water may be on the floor if is to cold
This may also reset the system.

Marvel 61wc wine cooler turns on, but doesn't cool

If you can hear the compressor running and there is no cooling happening your unit has either lost it's refrigerant due to a leak or the compressor is completly worn out (or both). If you just hear the condenser fan running (air blowing), then maybe the compressor just has bad electricals (starting relay, overoad, run capactor) or it has developed a bad winding and will need to be replaced.

If you know you have lost refrigerant the repair will be quite costly and you should consider replacement. If you feel it is a failure of the small electrical parts for the compressor, repair would be more cost effective.

You can get further trouble-shooting assistance and order parts direct from the factory at 800-223-3900.

You can look up a local servicer on their web-site at www.lifeluxurymarvel.com
Should you desire to attempt electrical repair yourself, reply to me and I will provide further troubleshooting assistance or you can contact Marvel Customer Service at the number above. Good-Luck, Subdriver

Temperature control does not work. Unit freezes everything no matter where the temperature control is set (Marvel Wine Refrigerator)

Either the thermostat itself is bad, or the relay is sticking. If you break the connection between the T-stat and the relay, and it keeps runnning, the problem is the relay.

If the compressor stops running when you break the connection or disconnect the T-stat, then the T-stat needs to be replaced.

Marvel 61wc temperature will not go below 67 degrees F. Ice has accumulated on the back wall on the coil.

The 61 WC is a cycle defrost/plate sensing control. If your unit was manufactured before 2001 it will use an electric/mechancal thermostat that has a capillary tube that senses temperature. If it was made after, it will use a solid state control box that has a "thermsitor" sensing temperature and a potentiometer for user input (OFF through 7). If the unit runs constantly, and does not reach desired temperature...it is low on freon due to a leak. This will be evidenced by ice build-up where the freon first enters the evaporator plate and no where else. You will have to have a technician fix the leak and recharge the unit. Don't wait to long to ge this corrected. If the unit runs too long with a low charge it could draw air and contaminants into the system and the compressor will get damaged.

I hope this helps.

Marvel 61WC Wine Frige Won't Turn Off

Check he frost pattern on your evaporator. That is a plate sensing control and if the system developes a freon leak you will have frost on the beginning of the cycle (middle bottom and travels to the left, then across the top middle, then to the right and back to the lower middle) but not at the end where the thermsitor senses temperature. This will cause the unit to run almost continously no-matter what setting you have it on. If this is so, you need to have the leaking component repaired/replaced. You will not want to let your unit run like this since the longer you do..the more components will get damaged. If you are still with-in your warranty period, contact your dealer to initiate service. If not, contact any appliance repair shop you trust in your area. I hope this helps.

Marvel Cooler/Fridge Light Not Working

It sounds like the bulb is not getting power. There is a door switch that turns it off when the door closes...this may be stuck. There is usually an optional (depending on age) ON/OFF switch that overrides the light to be on full time. If the light will also not turn on with that switch then there must be a disconnected or broken wire either going to the light switches or going to the light socket from the switches. I hope this helps.
