Ok I ha an LED LG HD tv and tried hooking up an RCA sound bar. Lights are all on but no sound comes thru and the tv will not respond to any of the controls. With the set up buttons on the tv itself I turned off the tv speaker but that still didn't work. What's up? Am I going to need on os those converters to hook my red and white cords too??? HELP an old lady out please and thank you

The red white and yellow cables are composite connections. The red/green/blue connections are component connections.

The playstation's composite connections consist of two audio connections- red & white, and a composite yellow video connection. The TV's white connection is the audio, and the red/green/blue are component video. You need an adapter that will connect the one yellow(composite video) to the three red/green/blue (component video) connections

the tv should already have a place where the yellow red and white cables fit on the back usually if not, you would have to go to your local radio shack or source or a store like that and pick up a rca to coaxial converter theyre like 20 bucks depending on where you go then you can just plug it in accordingly and then youre golden

Hello,

You will be needing a RCA Digital TV box converter or Digital RCA TV box converter. This converter will be the link between the Sound bar system and TV.

You should find this converter in any electronics accessories store within you vicinity or check walmart store close to you or order it online from walmart (But I don't recommend ordering online because of it's problem sometimes).

Check the back of the converter, it should have an input for Digital and RCA output and vise-a-vise.

U have to use the Connector labeled RF-1 U have to screw the connector on. I had the same problem

Got an ONN TV and an ONN soundbar. Hooked up via RCA cable. TV audio in PCM mode. Soundbar in AUX mode. Can't get any sound from soundbar. What have I missed?
PCM mode is a digital audio file that should be sent to the soundbar via an optical or coaxial digital audio cable. The coaxial digital audio cable uses an RCA plug but not the L/R stereo channels of analog audio. The aux input is usually the 3.5 MM cable from a computer, CD or MP3 player or a cell phone or tablet.

First, which type of RCA cable is connected between the sound bar and the TV? Second, are you sure that the TV connection is an audio out? (A number of recent TVs have only one audio output. This means there is only the optical audio out and not even a headphone jack.)

Once you double-check the input at the sound bar, choose the Line In input if you are using the stereo RCA cable. If you are using the Optical input, select that input. Use either the Mode button or the specific input button on the remote. Then double-check that the TV is set for the appropriate audio out.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of the TV and the sound bar for further information. I looked at the ONB18SB001 documentation for some of this. Modern TV's are not fitted with Audio out sockets these days. You will probably see with those two red and white jacks are some other jacks. These together are used to connect to either a DVD, Camcorder, or projector. Therefore are useless as sound out! The only way you can get audio out, to an amp not having a digital connection, is to use are scart plug that has RCA cables coming out of it. Assuming the TV has a scart socket.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV
the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

I'm trying to connect a Samsung HD LCD tv to a Denon AVR1508 receiver using HDMI cable so that the TV sound comes thru the receiver/speakers. which jack do I use (on both the tv and the receiver,
connect the hdmi to the tv (hdmi input 1) and to the receiver (hdmi output) you must make sure that the receiver input settings are assigned correctly. Then hook up all of your devices to the receiver. remember that the 1508 dosent do hdmi upconversion, so if you have any devices that are NOT hdmi, you need to run rca cables from the output of you receiver to the input of your tv. If you have any digital inputs coming out of your devices, i would recommend using them. your 1508 has two inputs that are assignable.
If all of your devices are hooked up to your receiver, and its hooked up to your tv properly, just turn down the sound on your tv, and turn up the volume on your denon!

Usually on newer westinghouse tv's the only audio output on the tv is the headphone jack so you will need to buy a 3.5 mm stereo to rca converter and use that instead of the rca cables provided with the sound bar.

OK. For all you regular Joe's like me here's the fix--plain and simple! I have Dish Networks HD receiver, an LG Home Theater System (LHB953) and an LG HD Television - although I suspect this applies for most LG TV-to-LG Audio Systems used in combination with a HD TV). My problem lied within the LG to LG setting known as SIMPLINK which tries to "auto-configure" everything between LG to LG devices.

Do this to make your HD TV (using Dish/DirecTV) play it's HD video display from the satellite provider but play the audio over the LG surround sound speakers:

1. Plug a HDMI cable from your satelite receiver's set-top-box to your HD TV. This will carry your HD "video" ONLY. Click "Input" on the TV remote until the HD video signal shows your desired TV channel from your satellite provider.

2. Plug an HD Optical cable (the one with the red laser) from your LG HTS (Home Theater System) to your satellite box. This will carry your HD "audio" ONLY.

3. This is the magic everyone seems to be overlooking. On the LG TV remote, go into the menu options and disable SIMPLINK by setting SIMPLINK=OFF. This feature allows the video and audio signals to be split over 2 different ports: HD video goes over the HDMI cable and the audio to go over the HD Optical cable.

LG LHB655NW Home Theater System. What is the Micom option for it? I have an interesting issue with my home theater system possibly unstable electrical voltage. When I want to change the input function it writes just FM on front panel although there is no FM receiver on it. it can't be pair with the rear receiver, too. I figured out Micom OPT settings are cleared. OP0 to OP5 are all set to 00. When I changed them randomly I could activate optical input or BT or LG TV. But I can't find default inputs like HDMI arc LG tV simp link. I have tried resetting eeprom by pressing stop on front panel and 0 on remote but it doesn't make any change. I think these micom Options are the identity for the device. There is no information about default Micom OPTs in the service manual. Is there anyone who knows the default Micom Options of the device. If anyone has the device, can he access the codes for me by this way: NO DISC or Tray OPEN State and Setup-DISPLAY-TV Aspect Ratio- 16:9 Full 4+5+6+2+5+8+0+ENTER

LG TV 65UH6030, no picture but can hear sound. I have an Lg tv 65UH6030. Turned the tv on, the screen was backlit, we could hear sound, but no picture, I ordered a t-con board, replaced it, same result as before. The screen lit up the way it did. I then ordered a main board, replaced that, turned the tv on with the new t-con board in case it was a combo the screen is JUST black, nothing else. no more backlight Is it possible one of those boards was bad when I received the new one?
