When I try to turn my sims game on it just goes to loading for updates then goes back to home screen

well it could be the resolution of your tv if your or a damage cable that is causing the problem what you can do is to hook up the ps3 to you tv with the regular cables A/V components(red, white and yellow) and try to play a game or demo, if you could see the picture then is the cable or the display settings. you can also try to check different display settings. for example if you use 1080p change it to 720p and try it to see if it works. also try changing the input to a different input on your tv if you're using HDMI 1 change it to HDMI2. and viseversa

Are you connected to the internet with your PS3? If you are make sure you have the latest update. If not you can download the latest update onto a memory stick via your PC and just plug it in to the PS3

go into safe mode and restore system default or restore system files. if this dont help chose the last option.

power it off hold to power on continue to hold til powers off again, hold to power on continue to hold 5sec it will beep then 2sec later double beep let go and your in safe mode if you dont see this on the screen then its another issue with the tv or cables.

If you are having issues like this the fastest fix i have seen work is booting into safemode on the ps3 and doing the restore system files option take about 3-5min from start to finish and it will fix any corrupted files.
