U don't - if abused the insulation on speaker windings will expand and wedge the voice coil in the magnet gap.

Only fix is to replace entire driver - sorry.

Need to fix a kicker l7 15" subwoofers blow the coil

If you have a direct replacement, unscrew the speaker from the case, the cables to it are either terminals or soldered on place so disconnect those, then reconnect the new cone the same way round as you took off the cables and screw back into place.

What size should my box be for 15 inch square kicker

At least 3 cubic feet. Less if you're going to port it. There are online calculators for box and port sizes if you have the specs on your sub and the type of music you like.

My air conditioner dwc 084 rl model does not work well, can not maintain a temperature below 70

The air is cool but doesn't seem cold enough If the air doesn't seem cool enough it is necessary to use a thermometer to check the difference in temperature between the air going into the unit and the air being blown into the room. Ideally, the temperature difference should be more than 15 degrees. For example, if the temperature going into the air conditioner is 80 degrees, the temperature coming out of the unit should be at least 65 degrees or less. If the difference is 15 degrees or more there is probably no cause for concern. If the temperature difference is less than 15 degrees you should check the following:
  • Air damper
Check to make sure the air damper is closed. If it's open, it will bring in outside air and reduce the efficiency of the unit.
  • Back cover
During the winter season many people cover their air conditioners to protect the unit from the weather. In the spring or summer they will sometimes forget to remove the cover. If your unit has a cover on the outside portion of the air conditioner remove the cover first.
  • Condensing coils
The condensing coils will always be on the "warm" side of the air conditioner. That is, on the side that faces outside of the room to be cooled. Air is drawn into the back of the air conditioner on the sides through vent slots and is blown directly out through the condenser coils. If the coils get clogged with lint, dust and dirt the cooling system cannot provide the cooling necessary. To clean the coils it will be necessary to remove the entire cover of the air conditioner or pull it out of the wall to gain access to the coils. They can be cleaned by blowing compressed air at them or by using a soft bristle brush to wipe the dirt off. It is important to also clean any dirt or lint build-up in the bottom of the air conditioner so the condense water will be picked up by the condensing fan slinger properly.

It could also mean that you are trying to cool too big an area for the size of the unit.
AREA TO BE COOLED / CAPACITY (BTU/HR)

100 to 150 square feet = 5,000
150 to 250 square feet = 6,000
250 to 300 square feet = 7,000
300 to 350 square feet = 8,000
350 to 400 square feet = 9,000
400 to 450 square feet = 10,000
450 to 550 square feet = 12,000
550 to 700 square feet = 14,000
700 to 1000 square feet = 18,000

Hi there I have a problem with my kickers. Subwoofer l7 15" is blow,I was wondering if there is a repair kit avaible for it or not?

The only Kicker woofer that has a replacement cone/assembly is the SoloX woofers. All of those have what Kicker calls it's SPARE which is a field replacement assembly. They're designed for SPL competitions.

Db drive vs kicker

The Kickers are the way to go here- they move more air because naturally a 15 inch square has more area than a 15 inch circle- thus more air moved =greater spl =LOUDER. The only thing that might get some equality between the two is if the db drive round sub has a far greater xmax that is the linear movement of the cone from start to full excursion-IF the db drive has drastically larger xmax than it could possibly outperform the L7 because of greater cone excursion which also =more air moved=louder---- haha thats a tricky one but ya got me wondering too so let me know what you find out please-Ive always been a kicker fanatic so im probably biased towards their products-never heard nothing bad about db drive though either im in salt lake city i dont know of anywhere out here that even carries their products so i have nothing to reference by except kicker L7's kick asssssssssss

IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE A BLACKENED COIL ON A 15 INCH L5? THE AUDIO REPAIR GUY TOLD ME HE DIDN'T KNOW IF YOU COULD REPLACE THE COIL, SAID I PLAYED IT TOO LOUD.

no - the coil cannot be replaced on any kicker speakers except the SOLO X
It is a proprietary part. Even kicker will not repair a speaker that is out of warranty.
You have a doorstop now (or passive radiator).
i am an authorized kicker dealer and get MANY questions about L5 and L7s.
I have (4) 15" L7s in my garage - hoping - someday - they will release spare cone assemblies. But for right now - they are displays only.

Wiring

provided that the memphis studio series is still 1 ohm stable you would wire each coil of each speaker like this : posive to positive negative to negetive on the speaker using 2 jumper wires then run 1 coil from each subs positive and negative the input on the amp that amp would see a 1 ohm load from both speakers as each speaker would become a 2 ohm load. from experience, memphis does not make an amplifier that is brutal enough on power for L7 15" solos, i have the st 1600 d amp running only 2 dual 4 ohm 10 L5's and it is barely enough power for them. For less money than your 2 subs cost retail I can get you brand new matching 2000 watt true competition rated and proven 1 ohm power and 2 subs that would physically fit in your current box, i would however recommend a very very large box for 2 15" squares. you can email me at [email protected] , my advice and system designs are always free even if you do not buy thru me. I am usually 1/3 to 1/2 what retail is with full warranties and i can drop ship anywhere in the U.S.A.

Subwoofer

Hi yeahonda,

Your Kicker L7 Ohms may be too low for the MA Audio Mono block amp. The MA Audio Amp is probably 2 Ohm Stable. The kicker will either be 2 ohm or 4 ohm Dual voice coil.   To eliminate the low ohms as a possible threat to causing the map to go into Protect, Wire the kicker Voice Coils in Series.  This adds the ohms, so that you either have 4 or 8 ohms.

I am using the following codes to show wiring. VC1+ stands for the Kicker  Subs Voice Coil #1 Postive post. AO+ is the MA audio Amp output positive.

AO+ to VC1+

VC1- to VC2+

VC2- to AO-

This shopuld give you 4 or 8 ohm depending on the 15" L7 setup.  Crutchfield does not carry the Kicker  L7 in 15" They do  have the L5 in 15".

If you know how to read a Volt Ohm Meter, set it to OHMs 20 and measure across VC1+ to VC1- and you should see between 1.5 and 5 ohms..  Do the Same with VC2+ to VC2-.  you should see the same voltage. Also read from the Voice coil metal housing to VC1+ , VC1-, VC2+, and VC2-. and you should not read any ohmage to the case. The meter should say OL, or -1.

Good luck.
