Computer is running slow. Tried different browser. Keeps giving me an error saying Adobe Shockwave player plug in stopped working. Re installed Adobe Shockwave and it is still doing the same thing.

Hi Michelle Smith...
You may have a virus/trojan/worm in your notebook.
To remove a virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer...do it the EASY way...let someone else do it for you.
Start your computer in the Safe Mode.
To start the computer in the safe mode: As the computer is starting keep tapping the F1, F2 or F8 Key depending on your computer.
This will start the computer in the Safe Mode.
Once in the safe mode go to the following webage below and download, install, and run Microsoft Safety Scanner for FREE.
Once you run the Microsoft Safety Scanner (it may take quite a while depending on the size of your hard drive) it will remove all the virus's,trojans, worms, etc it finds, if it does not completely remove them all you will be given a chance to chat with a Microsoft Professional thru a pop open window and he will take control of your computer (with your permission) and finish removing all the rest of the virus's, trojans, or worms that are on your computer for FREE!! Can't beat FREE!!
Please take time to rate me

L500 blaster worm keeps shutting down my laptop, keeps bringing up a spyware program then shuts cant open task manager as it closes as soon as it opens cant open explorer either

Hi
You have a virus, worm, trojan, etc on your computer.
Keep tapping F8 to enter Safe Mode as the computer is starting.
Once you are in the Safe Mode then go to the following website and download, install and run the FREE Microsoft Safety Scanner.
It will remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer.
It may take quite a while to scan and repair your hard drive, it depends on the size of your hard drive.
Once the Microsoft Safety Scanner is completed running, it should have removed the virus, trojan, worm, etc. from you computer, but if it didn't remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc. from your computer then it will give you an option to connect (real time) with a Microsoft professional (FREE) and he will take over control of your computer (with you permission) and finish the removal process.

Apparantley i have a trojan worm in my lap top, i have norton and caled them they say i have a problem and my laptop is out of warranty and i have to purchase another one is this true

NO, you do NOT have to purchase a new laptop.

What the people at Norton probably meant was that your Norton anti virus software has expired and you need to purchase a new anti virus subscription from Norton if you want them to help you.

There are however other anti virus software manufacturers out there that are free and/or will allow you a 30 day trial period.

To help you clean out the worm in your system:

  • Find out the name of the worm you have on your system (your norton program will tell you this).
  • Go to this page: http://free.avg.com/us-en/virus-removal
  • Click on the link that has the same name as the worm on your system (don't worry about the I-worm or W32 part of the name, e.g. if your worm name contains navidad you want to click the I-worm/navidad link or if your worm name contains bugbear you want to click the I-worm/Bugbear.C link etc.)
  • Follow the instructions on the page you get to in order to get rid of your problem.
Hope this helps ;)

I have a virus that contains recognition patterns of (WORM/Hlux.A) worm. I denied it with Avira Antivirus, but the same message keeps popping up. So quarrantined it. How do I fix it?

Some antivirus soft can seem more efficient than another from time to time and against a specific virus .
Try temporarely disabling Avira and replace it by Microsoft's stuff from : http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
Try also Malwarebytes from : http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html . Realy effective .

Please help my computer keep having a pop about a virus and worm but I already have Iolo protection but now it just locks everything up it keeps saying activate this new protection

Be real careful, because there are websites that will launch this dialog box and no matter which answer you choose.... YOU LOSE! because it'll install a virus..
Your best bet is a program such as NORTON Utilities or a reputable app.
Keep it running in the background and even if you run into one of these foney dialog boxes again, simply force quit your program without closing the dialog box... be careful..

Net-worm.win32.kido.ih virus free removal required

Have you tried AVG antivirus webpage? They have a free version of their software, 100% usable at :

http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-10044820&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11014801

Per their website, there is the following info on your worm:
The first version of this virus which is recognized by AVG as Downadup (alternativelly I-Worm.Generic) has been detected at the end of November / begining of December, 2008. Currently there are over 300 unique versions of this virus. AVG detects and protects against all known variants of the worm.
Hope it takes care of it. If not let me know and I'll help you with fixing it so AVG does its job.

When opening my hp laptop I get a adobe reader error message. Says it can not open file because it is not supported or is damaged. Then when I click on anything it does the same thing. Any help would be...

Your computer most likely has a virus (probably a worm). Try different antivirus solutions (start with free versions) because some antivirus programs report that the system is free of viruses when in fact there still is. Install and run the antivirus only one at a time. Having two or more antiviruses can cause some problems.
