Important: It is recommended to take a backup of all the necessary data you have on your C: drive before you format it. Formatting the drive will erase everything on it.

The steps to format hard drive can vary depending upon which version of Windows you are using. You can refer to the following links for instructions:
For Windows 8 / 8.1:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/fl/format-hard-drive-windows-8.htm
For Windows 7 / Vista:

Can i use samsung recovery solution 4 for reformating the samsung n150plus?

Yes you can and if you just want to format the hard disk the discontinue the recovery installation.
You can also use a Windows installation Cd to delete the partition on the hard drive, create a new partition and format the partition then do not continue with the Windows installation.

How to format aspire one netbook

This is generally how your format the hard diskand install Windows.
First you need a Windows XP or Windows Vista installation CD and the productinstallation code, which is printed on the Windows label on the bottom of yourlaptop.
Boot up with the Windows installation CD start and follow the instructions toinstall Windows.
Next Delete the existing Windows partition.
Next Create a new partition.
Next format this new partition - Format the partition in NTFS not a quickformat. This will prepare the Windows for a clean install if you want to proceed otherwise quit or turn off the computer after format has been completed.

My operating system was accidentally deleted from my Asus netbook. I want to reboot it with a bootable pendrive but it doesnt work. It gives the message, NTLDR is missing, press ctrl+alt+del

Below is Microsofts solution to your error. Reload the OS with a Microsoft CD format it completely not the fast format option reload from sctratch. If you have no CDrom use an external.

Systems hard disk drive has FAT32 file system. Computer hard disk drive has INT-13 extensions with a system-ID type of 0C in the partition table The heads value in the FAT32 BIOS Pattern Block (BPB) is inaccurate.
To resolve the error message "NTLDR is Missing" follow the below steps: Boot the computer with a Windows 95 or Windows 98 Startup diskette or another bootable diskette with sys.com on it.
At the A:\> prompt type: sys c: <press enter> After pressing enter you should receive the prompt "System Transferred". Once the file system has been transferred reboot the computer without the diskette and attempt to reproduce the error.

My netbook boots only to the word window

Sounds like the HDD is corrupted what you need to do is goto the drives manufactures website and download their hard drives utilities software,

follow the instructions on how to make a bootable disk then shut down the computer reboot and run the utilities software, if you have nothing you need to save off the drive, Then do a low level format this can take upto an hour or more depending on how big the drive is

once you have done the low level format (this wipes everything off the drive) then reboot the system and format the drive in windows this will rewrite the master boot record in windows format

some manufactures don't have a format utility because there are so many differentsystem file formats.

Hi nishantsi762,

You can still use the One Key Recovery after formatting your drive C and installing XP. Just make sure that you will not reformat the whole hard drive because One Key Recovery image is in the hidden partition of your hard disk.

Hope it helps,

Thank you for using Fixya.

Netbook hard drive problem

Please login to the Computer with the Windows Operating System. Now, open the Disk Management window. Click on Start and select Run. In the Run command box, type Diskmgnt.msc and press Enter.
In the Disk Management window, you can view the 66 GB allocated space for Ubuntu. Right click on 66 GB space and select format. Now, you will get free space for Windows only.
