Not specific to the question but I found that the container you put liquid fabric softener into is clogged somewhat on my washer. Take the top cup off and pour warm water in it and then use q tip to clean out the place where the softener is distributed on side of the drum exterior of tub.
One of two things either the motor the moves the valve form wash to fabric softener to bleach is bad or most likely the small hole in the top of the dispenser housing are clogged. I have never had any luck cleaning them out enough to work correctly,I have this same unit in my house and had the same issue with the dispenser just a couple of months ago.The fix is to replace the dispenserassy. and then leave the drawer open when not in use to air out the inside preventing the growth that blocks the passageways needed for fabric softener to work
??????? they tray comes out easily, but your saying it clogs after each use??? not na common issue, please clarify to help you further.. it is normal for the unit to retain water after cycle complete( especially if fabric softenerwasnt used in prior wash) the compartment floods and siphons each chamber during wash, so if its there no fabric softener in to "siphon out" the waterwill reamin in chamber. normal operation
its normal for this to occour, atvery least nothing to worry about, the unit "floods" the compartment to release the fabric softener, and uses a syphoning action to empty chamber, regardles sof usingor not waterenters the chamber, and depending on level determines if it empties or not
pull drawer completely out by pressing release tab on left rear of drawer remove all the cups and clean thoroughly with damp rag wipe upper portion on opening before reinstalling drawer
di you try to remove the drawer completely and check for a blockage under he dispenser itself.(sometimes te fabric softener can get kinda gunky.. if you extend the dispenser you see a little black tab in top left corner, push it down and dispenser will release, just in case you didnt know that
In applications with low water pressure, insufficient water volume is introduced during the fabric softener dispensing portion of the cycle to flush the dispenser. RESOLUTION: The holes in the dispenser housing were enlarged to allow a greater volume of water to flow through the fabric softener dispenser to properly dispense the fabric softener. Order and replace the dispenser housing, Part #8181719, to correct the condition
I have a 9200SQ Whirlpool duet. It might be similar. I think the bleach and fabric dispensers work on the siphon principal--once the level gets above a certain point they will then siphon out until almost nothing is left. They should not start to siphon until extra water is directed into them during the correct cycle. It is possible that they are starting to siphon early because 1. the washer is not level, 2. water is being added to the dispenser during the wrong cycle 3. You put too much liquid into the dispenser and it started the siphon.
Note: You should not peek in the dispenser during the washer cycles because it might interrupt the "siphon"action and leave residual bleach or fabric softener in the dispensers.
