You're going to absolutely need the CD-KEY in order to activate and use the OS longer than a few weeks. There's really no short cut around this. Since you've already reformatted the drive, you can't even use Magical Jellybean to scan the drive for the key.

KeyFinder Magical Jelly Bean

Have a look at the case of the computer to see if the is a CoA (certificate of authenticity) sticker on it. The CD-KEY will appear on this sticker.

SOURCE: Lost install disk for Mac book pro My 13" Mac book

You will need some install disks to even begin working on your issue.
Your options:

  • Find someone with the same model MacBook Pro and borrow the disks.
  • Buy a copy of Leopard (10.5) or Snow Leopard (10.6) and use them. If you are going to buy a set you might as well update to Snow Leopard (10.6)
  • Check eBay for install disks but make sure they are for the same model MacBook Pro.
  • Contact an Apple service center and purchase a replacement set of install disks.
Once you have a install CD, I would recommend backing up your system by making a disk image of the hard drive to an external drive. Then doing a clean install and then using the Migration Assistant to restore your user files to the clean install on your hard drive.

Apple mac book pro wont boot it has cd stuck in side

Try starting with the button below the touchpad pressed, that should eject the cd, then try starting from a system disk, put the disc in and hold the "c" key and start. If it boots from cd then in your application folder choose utilities and in there find disk utility, select your hard drive and then select the repair disc feature, when that has run select repair permisions, if all is well choose start up disc from the utiliyies and select your hard drive (it should tell you what os version it has, if not you will have to run archive and instal and then run software update.
