HP Pavilion dv6119us need drivers for win7

It should be possible. You should search a free toll number for your country to ask Microsoft about this situation. Also you can take out your old hdd and use Ghost to mirror it on the new hdd :) - you just clone the old hdd

If you have a copy somewhere of C:\SwSetup folder from Vista, you have all pre-installed Vista software for your model.Should find there HP QuickPlay,etc. This software will also work under Win7.

However, someone claims, on this forum page(last post on the page) that all you need to do is use the "windows online driver search" function, and it will handle all of the messy work of locating, downloading & installing.

I doubt, due to no support from Microsoft, anyone still supports XP. The nearest drivers I can find are Vista32 bit drivers.

How about Win2000 drivers, they are very similar?

You need the Win7 driver, available here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=&cc=us&product=2512008& . If your printer has been connected to the computer (data cable), you may need to uninstall the generic OS driver that was installed. Then unplug the data cable, if USB, and install the Win7 software. (A full software version is available and I recommend that since you will be able to use the Toolbox to check your ink levels among other features.)

If you use the generic driver, some of the printer features should still work. You need at least the basic HP driver to run the scanner.

To get the remote to work on Win7 you need to install the CIR driver. You need to call or visit hp.com and see if the video drivers support Windows 7.

If you have bought an indepentant video card ( a video card that DID NOT come with the computer), then call the manufacturer of the card or visit the vendor's website and ask for/search for any Drivers that support Windows 7.

If none of these Ideas work, you may need to replace your video card with a Windows 7 compliant video card.

find out which drivers are missing through the Device Manager then download them from the manufacturer's websites to from your Windows OS CD, which will have generic versions of the drivers needed.

The dv9000 uses special HiDefinition sound.

1. Download and install kb888111.exe file from

2. Download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio

3. Now install Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

It should then recognise the sound card after the kb888111.exe is installed and the rest should then work.
