What is wrong when gmail does not respond?

The screen needs recalibrating! Go to settings> screen!

If you use the wrong pattern often enough, Android will ask you to login to the tablet using your Google ID and password (the one you use for Gmail and your calendar). This should allow you to access the tablet and from there you can set a new pattern.

Hold the power button down and the volume button down until the icon comes up then a menu will come up choose factor restore. If you still have problem let me know

Try going to system settings and select 'About Tablet' then checking you are fully charged and in good wifi signal select 'system updates' Update to any new version it finds.
Make sure it is fully charged with the screen brightness down (so it will last for hours, just in case). The last thing you want is a power down during an update...

Check your gmail mail settings on the iPad. It seems you may have the wrong settings because typically your mail server settings would be set to "pop.gmail.com" when using Gmail on an iPad.
