My dryer is not drying very well, we beleive it may be because we need to clean the lint tray. where is the lint tray and how do you remove it

On this model your lint filter is in the middle of the door. Simply ope the door and unsnap the plastic grill. The filter is behind it. Also the venting from the rear of the dryer to wherever it ends up outside needs to be cleaned.

Kenmore 90 Series, 10 years old; Dryer was making funny noise and stopped in the middle of a cycle. There was a burnt smell when it stopped. Cannot turn drum manually either. What are possibilities?

OF COURSE SOMETHING BURNT INSIDE THE SYSTEM. YOUR MOTOR MIGHT BE BURNT. 90 SERIES, YOU MUST HAVE THE LINT FILTER ON TOP CORRECT? TAKE FILTER OUT, UNSCREWS THE TWO SCREWS, PULL TOP PANEL TOWARDS YOU AND LIFT UP. DISCONNECT LID SWITCH CONNECTOR, UNSCREW TWO SCREWS HOLDING FRONT PANEL ON, REMOVE FRONT PANEL, TAKE DRUM OUT AND CHECK THE UNIT. GOOD LUCK

Kenmore 90 series dryer, motor wont start, loud

Hi,
  • Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

  • If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

  • Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.
Hope this will fix your problem for sure.

Kenmore series 90 electric dryer: exhaust air is

that's normal, obviously you haven't cleaned out your dryer and vent line, nobody ever tells the customer when you buy your dryer that it should be cleaned out at least once a year so you don't have a fire more so if it's a gas dryer with an open flame inside the dryer, you gotta vac out the inside where the motor is,clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and blow out the vent line,i use a leaf blower to clean out the vent line, take it off the back of the dryer, stick the leaf blower in the line if it's a long run if it runs through the wall and to the outside flapper and blow all the **** out of it,also if you have a shop vac put it on blow and blow off the motor, you won't believe how much lint comes off the motor even though it looks clean,so vac out the inside of dryer, clean out the lint filter duct and blow out the vent line

My Kenmore Series 90 dryer won't run as it appears the door does not hit the actuator. It would appear either the door has moved to a lower position or the actuator has moved up into the dryer. May I ask...

The door switch or actuator is broken. A common problem. On most Kenmore dryers this is replace by lifting the top. Since you haven't given the whole model number I will discuss raising the top on the most common model.

If your model has a lint filter at the top the slide show below should show you how to raise the top.

Kenmore Dryer

Disconnect power to unit. Lift the cover from the lint filter or if yours is the one with a filter and cover together, remove the whole filter. You will see 2 screws under the cover/filter, remove them. Now, you will need a putty knife or a thin shafted straight screw driver to remove the top panel. Push the putty knife or screw driver to "pop" the front top clips. The top panel will hinge back towards the wall and can be left there. Just inside the top of the front panel, you will see 2 screws, remove them. You will see the wires for the door switch on the right side. *** the top of the front panel toward you to gain access to the switch for replacement.

Reverse process for reassembly. Good Luck

Kenmore 90 seies belt replacement

you have to remove the top and front panel,if you have a top lint filter remove the two lint screen filter screws, pull the top toward you and up,lint screen inside, most pull forward and up,so you might have to remove the two console head screws(one on each side, flip up and remove 4 more screws, now disconnect the door switch, now remove the 2 screws on the front panel top 1 on each side, now pull up and off, remove any other wires that might go to the door, now pull the drum out,now look down at the motor pulley wheel and the idler wheel, the belt goes around the drum, now put the drum back in place, now put the belt under the idler wheel and up onto the motor pulley, replace everything and your done-mike
