The Toshiba TV Regza 37WLT68 started to intermittently fail to power up from the remote, when the problem became more common I did all the usual checks with batteries, remote etc.. then tried using the manual button controls on the TV it's self with no difference so when that failed completely I resorted to flicking the mains socket on and off which worked for a while which was annoying but worked. Now the whole thing has failed to power up at all. Is this the power board that needs replacing or something else? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
May be a bad Capacitor on the motherboard, or its a bad power supply board. upon disassembly look at the Caps (image posted) near where the power goes into the tv. Typically larger ones. if any of them look swollen or burnt, then that is your problem. it must be de sautered and replaced with one of the same specs. if all of them look okay, then you probably need a new power supply board, which should be seperate board from the main board of the tv, depends on the model though. Also, check all around the board, there may be a bad (watch) battery on the board or a bad (glass) fuse.(also imaged)

I've removered the mains board which doesn't look the same as the one you picutered, the largest capacitor is 470 mf at 450v, unfortunatley my meter will only measure to 200 mf but there is nothing about the casing that gives any indication of an internal problem. the #'s on the board are;- V28A000177A1 & PE197
Ooops! pushed the wrong button and posted it before I had finished!! Would it be worth me replacing the 5 or so larger caps on the board anyway or is that just grasping at straws!?
