Why does kenmore 22422 make loud clunking noise in spin cycles

Top loading machines have a suspension to allow limited movement and one of these points has failed.

A flashlight and removal of the back panel and moving the drum by hand should reveal which of these has failed.
You'll need a helper for one or the other jobs.

Loud clunk between cycles and will not drain or spin

Your transmission is damaged, or your motor coupling is broken. Hopefully, it will be the latter since is much cheaper.

But, since it agitates (assuming since it clunks between cycles), it is probably transmission unless I misunderstood your description.

Model nbr 110-92580100 ser cd 3347297. wouldnt

your kenmore sounds like it lost the coupler do you feel ok opening the machine and inspecting the part?
the loud noise may be the coupler. I think your timer is working ok. because it goes through the cycle..

If you inspect it to be a bad coupler you can go here www.techray1.com and click on the link

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix
