A flashlight and removal of the back panel and moving the drum by hand should reveal which of these has failed.
You'll need a helper for one or the other jobs.
you need to check your lid switch. open the lid then listen for a clicking noise when you lower it closed. the lid swtich is a safety device.( if no click no spin)
your kenmore sounds like it lost the coupler do you feel ok opening the machine and inspecting the part? the loud noise may be the coupler. I think your timer is working ok. because it goes through the cycle..
