Cannot play ipod on 2000 malibu using tape adapter. malibu has cd player and remote tape deck

  • ronaldhayes7 Jul 08, 2009

tape deck does work with a tape but ejects the tape adapter after a few seconds after it plays on each side because of the auto reverse. I cannot find a way to disable the auto reverse as was recommended by the owner's manual for tape decks (no cd player) only. The only way I have found to be able to play the ipod is with either a fm transister (which is no good) or getting an ipod adapter and plugging it to the back of the factory radio

Instead use a radio adaptor where you would set you radio to a particular channel. The adaptor emits a signal correspondent to that radio signal and allows you to listen to your iPod.

How to wire cd player up in 2000 chevrolet malibu

I just discovered there are wiring harness adapters as I used one on my car to install a new cd player recently. I found this one on the internet not sure if it is the same car you have.
http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=71-1858
then you can buy a harness adapter from this adapter to the make of cd player like as an example Kenwood Cd player adapter.

A car auto store may know about these wiring harness adapters the advantage of using them is it makes it easy to install the cd player and if you ever decide to change the cd player in the future you can buy the adapter suited to the future player and plug it into the malibu car wiring adapter as the car adapter converts the factory wiring into a universal wiring standard.

A tip
make sure the radio and cd player works and the climate control work properly before completely re assembling the dash board .
I forgot the aerial cable plug !

I used Aeropro brand of wiring harness for my car that I got from
Car Accessory store in my country . I had to cut one wire and connect it to Pontrol to get my power aerial to work correctly. Which the store salesman helped me work out which wire controlled the cars power aerial

I own a 1997 Ford Taurus. I am trying to use a tape to mp3 player adapter in its tape player. When I push the tape in the player, I get a "TDE3" message and the tape spits out. I tried using another tape,...

It's the tape deck there must be a tape that got caught inside and is wrapped around the capstan or the heads and the radio stays on because the switch is not activated by the deck lowering down far enough you have to take it out and clean it and look for any tape or other obstructions that would stop the mechanism from working including the belt you may need parts and a 20 year old radio there hard to find try the junk yard for a replacement but you can operate yours with the cover off if you can get it out far enough to see inside while it's on and that will help you find the problem but first bring it inside your house so you don't loose parts after cleaning with alcohol and derusting if any and a light lubricant you might be lucky see what happens I also use an adapter for my cell phone music in a 2007 bull and I also did it in an 87 bull with a cd player so I know what your talking about also make sure the adapter wire is not hanging up when pushing it in good luck also brand new replacements might be the best way to get the music you want they have auxiliary input jacks for cell phone mp3 players but try to fix yours first the learning part is priceless for the future radios you will own

Where is the cd player the radio says that there is no disk

Most cd players are in the main dash panel. If you do not have a cd slot, you likely don't have a cd player. These vans usually don't come with them and you have to install an aftermarket cd player.
If you have a cd disc changer, it is likely in the very rear of the vehicle.

Tape Deck does not recognize tape adapter. Does not eject.

Just an idea .. In the past I have removed hungry decks from my cars. A lot easier to work on / dismantle than in dash. gently remove the casing and you should find the tape deck a separate component within the whole unit.Hook up via alligater clips to battery to power up and alligater clips to a speaker lead to hear. saves a lot of stress. Usually done for chewwed up and swallowed tape. results are good, surprisingly.

Cheers !

2002 Chevy Malibu Cassette Player will not work

Since no repair parts or repair manuals are made available to the consumer by GM then you must remove the deck from the dash and send it in for repair at a factory approved repair center.

Chevy Cavalier Cassette Player

The tape player is probably broke. There may have been pop spilled in there and got it all sticky inside. Use a maglite and look inside the tape player for this or bad dust etc. You will have to replace the player, and you might as well get a cd player since it will not cost you a ton these days. You can use an mp3 player or ipod today, but if you want to use cd's, then install a cd player. You should be able to do this pretty cheap now, maybe $40-60 bucks or so.
