Replacing the carb won't have any effect on the absence of a high voltage spark. The coil would but since you have already replaced it you can rule it out. So there are only two more things that can cause no spark. First trying to replace the capacitor and make sure the points are properly gaped and not worn.

Where is the coil pack located on 1996 oldsmobile achevia?

the coil pack on the four cylinder is located under the metal cover on top of the engine. There are four bolts and one large connector on the drivers side. Once the cover is removed you will see the ignition coil housing, also common to fail. You will need to remove the housing to access the 2 coils.

on the 6 cylinder the coils are mounted to a bracket near the back of the engine. Pretty easy to spot if you follow the spark plug wire to it.

Hi, if you short the kill switch terminal on the coil and you still have spark then the earthing circuit inside the coil is fried. If this is the case the only way to fix your problem is replace the coil. Regards Phil.

Does my 2 cylinder kohler engine have a firing coil

Yes, some of them have covers that cover the coil. you may have to remove a cover or two. the best way is to locate the spark plug and then follow the spark plug wire back. most of these engines depending on the year will have the coil under the flywheel and they use a magnet to trigger and produce the spark. Again not sure the year but to remove the flywheel a puller is needed and you will have to remove cover, Most of these twin cylinder engines use two coils, one for each cylinder.
Here is a website that may be helpful in testing the coils. hope this is helpful. good day.http://www.ehow.com/how_7880826_test-coil-kohler-command.html

No spark at plugs on a 1986 chevy pu with 350 is the coil bad or something else

to test whats wrong you need a test light 12 volt. It's an ice pick like tool with a clear handle and a ware with an alligater clip. hook the clip to ground near the ciol then with the key on the ciols small wires will be hot ( lights the light ) unplug the small wire plug at the coil and one wire will be hot the other cold. the one thats cold connect the test light and reconnect to the coil. crank the engine before cranking with the key on it should be lit cranking it should flash off and on quickly. All of this presoposes that the battery is well charged and cranks the engine good. if it just stays on then you need to verify that the distrubutor is turning, ( cap off look it it with it cranking it should turn if not the timing chain whent out. no flash and the distrbutor turns the crank senser 9 DISTUBUTOR PICKUP OR THE INGTION MODULE failed any of the wires can break too. Most auto parts stores can test the module before you buy a new one. module failure is common well motor no start. the pickup is not as common and if your not a regular mechanic then changing the distrubutor is easier. make sure that you put the new one in the same as the old one or it won't run. turn the engine till the rotor points straight to somewhere (front) pull the old on watching it turn as it comes out so you can turn the new one in at the same place put the cap back on and fire it up. The rebuilt distrubutor will have a new pickup and module. The coil can fail but not like a light switch. if the the ciol has power and the other side flases and theres no spark the coil is bad.

Cyl. 3 miss fire code po303

my money would be on the coil cover, especially if it had been a long time since the last tune up. it is certainly worth trying, as this is part of a routine tune up anyways. good luck!

Where are the spark plugs in a 2004 trailblazer

They are Located UNDER the INDIVIDUAL CIOL PACKS , on the TOP of ENGING. ECCESSED By Removing the 10mm Bolt that Holds Coil in Place, once bolt is removed Pull COIL OFF and Spark Plug is UNDER it. There Is ALSO a BOOT on EACH one that Requires Replacment at Basicly the SAME Intervalls as SPARK PLUGS.

Ignition

The module that the coil pack is connected to is shot if you don't have spark in that cylinder. If you have spark in that cylinder and it is still not fireing than you may have a bad injector
