2003 ISUZU NPR TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT.

Transmission will not engage in drive or second,if you put in 1st gear position truck will drive as it is supposed to do and pull off as it should. Once it is going you can shift to Drive and it works fine until you have to stop and then you have to shift back to 1st gear position to get it going again. Truck will down shift from 3rd. to 2nd when needed, and it will go in overdrive when it is supposed to . no lights or indicators are showing. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you need to change transmission fluid and filter. Buy some synthetic AF fluid, cheap or expensive they will all do well, Also change out the transmission filter.

Check sensors on the transmission. Best way to do it is a network diagnostics test. This will tell you exactly which sensor it is. It may just be a sensor with corrosion, try cleaning each sensor.

2003 chevy venture transmission won't shift from 2nd

You might have burned out the transmission plates, try getting the transmission out of the car and inspect the plates inside.

The transmission is failing here, you need a transmission repair shop tech to drive this and give you the finale word but i think you will need a transmission rebuild.

Our Isuzu Fuego LS 4x2 Manual Transmission doesn't move even the shift stick is already palced in First Gear, even in second gear and third gear and fifth gear also no reverse, to sum up only 4th gear will...

you may have a shaft key broken in the transmission. 4th is usually 1-1 drive and does not need the key. before removing the transmission, check to make sure the linkage is OK by shifting gears at the transmission. If you can get other gears at the transmission, then the problem is the shifter.

How to shift into 4wd

Ford has 2 types of 4x4 system engagement. One is a knob on the dash that you just turn to 4wheel drive high or low. The other system is the 4x4 transfer case shift on the transmission tunnel (hump) between the driver and passenger seats. To shift into 4 wheel drive high while driving, just let off the gas and shift transfer case into 4H position, and continue driving. To shift into 4 wheel drive Low, stop the vehicle completely, put transmission in neutral, shift transfer case into 4Low position, put trans. in gear, and start driving. I am assuming before doing the above, you have locked in ( turned the front hubs to 4 wheel drive position.) Any further questions, let me know.
