Reset all the i/o active channels, i/o ports, memory etc of ur printer by using printer menu.
And then load factory defaults. Then configure the tcp/ip port again and aassign ip address.
Try it , i think printer memory is full

If it is a network printer then it must have menus to configure tcp/ip port. Without tcpip u cannot assign ip to the printer. And in the same menus there must be something like reset menu, settings etc.
Do u have any menu screen on the printer?

My shared printer will only print a test page and nothing else!

Hi phall124
Have you made the new connected printer on 2 other PC's the default printer. Try selecting the printer in word by not just clicking on printer icon but using the following:
1.File
2.Print
3.Select printer from drop down box
4.Print

Not supports bi-directional printing on win98 + winxp network

this is compatability problem. You should install your printer on Windows XP system. Then make it share for all. I think it will print from both 98 and XP. try this.......good luck.

Thanks

Number of pages tracking on daily basis in hp1018 laser printer

try Printer Test page
The Printer Test page contains information about printer driver and port settings. The page also contains information about the printer name and model, computer name, and so on.
You can print the Printer Test page from the printer driver.
is it on the network? login to the printer using http://<ipaddress of printer>
other option is to contact hp support online.

Printer offline

1) Ensure you've run the D-Link supplied automatic configuration wizard. 2) Also ensure you have "Netbios over TCP/IP" enabled in your network settings. 3)Ensure you turn off "Bidirectional Printing" in the Ports tab and "Enabled Advanced printing features" in the advanced tab, for testing purposes. I know the printer connectivity is officially supported by D-Link (thru an independent 3rd party test facility) but it seems they may have had NetBeui installed, which is an outdated networking protocol. Try the first 3 options I gave, if they don't work, then let me know. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"

Sharing srp350 network printer on win98 to winxp

You are correct with the conflict, although, it's a difference in drivers, i think what has happened is when you share a printer with xp, it installs the driver from the pc with the driver and printer attached, and as it is attached to a win98 pc, the full functions are probably unavailable, unlike an xp local driver.
