The Curly is called the "at" symbol as in [email protected]
This will depend on the Computer or iDevice that you are using.
It is part of the ASCII character set on most keyboards.
You sometimes have to cluck the upper case or symbol key on an iDevice to see the @ symbol. On a Mac it's the Shift Key and 2.

Have you measured the DC resistance of the woofer to determine if it's OK? You will need to disconnect it from the amp. Check each voice coil individually.
If you disconnect both speaker wires from the amp, does it still show an overcurrent condition?
