You will need to contact HP and arrange to have it reset. This is a business class machine and the BIOS password feature is meant to be a theft deterrent and usually cannot be defeated by an end user.

Bios password

Find the quarter-sized battery on the motherboard and remove it for a few minutes. There might be two pins nearby that read CMOS reset or BIOS reset. Shorting them together with all power removed, including the small battery, can also reset the BIOS.

My fingerprint sensor on my HP EliteBook 2730p doesn't work anymore. I thought that it was just the driver or software that I was missing since I got it through school and they reimaged it with Microsoft...

Windows XP is too old to have the drivers for it. You will have to reload Win 7 or find out what the password is. Here are a couple of options for you.

That will help with drivers and if it is a Windows password you require;

Lost user password in XP with networking set-up on HP

The best way to do this is using the Offline NT Password & Registry editor.
You can download it at the following link: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

This utility will enable you to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your Windows NT/2k/XP/Vista etc. system.
The link above includes some directions on how to use this utility.

Hope that helps.

I need reset bios password Notebook HP Compaq 2710p

I know some methods to reset bios password.
1. The best and easiest method: Close OS and shut down the electricity power of computer. Open your computer box, take out the cmos battery from the mainboard. Then the bios password will be reset to blank. Put it back after a few minutes.
2. Follow some hard tutorials, it is difficult to do. It is better that you are a expert. For example this tutorial: reset BIOS Password?

So I would suggest you the 1st method. Hope it helps.
