Question about Samsung DVD-V9800 DVD Player/VCR

Why after playing & removing tape in trying to play a disc the screen says no tape inside insert tape and does not play the disc.How do I get to play a disk?

Change the input switch to DVD instead of VCR.

SOURCE: When a disc is loaded, it reads no disc, and disc cannot be played.

It is very possible that the lens motor has burnt out. Sometimes the capacitors on the motherborard short out causing the gear timing to go out..

The only thing you can do to fix this is to take the cover off. Get cotton swab and dip it rubbing alcohol and clean the glass laser eye with it.

take it apart and clean the lens that reads the disc with a q tip and nail polish remover and that should solve the problem

try cleaning the laser with a cotton bud, those discs with little brushes on are a gimmic and do seriously nothing at all

see the cause and fix it:
1 alternative for playing DVD:
  1. No disc. - Load a disc into the tray.
  2. Disc has been loaded upside down. Place the disc with the label side up.
  3. Disc region code does not match region code of the player.
  4. Disc type is not the correct type to play.
  5. Disc is damaged or dirty. Clean the disc or try another.
  6. Moisture may be condensed inside the unit. Remove the disc and the leave the power on for one or two hours.
2ND ALTERNATIVE: FOR VHS RECORDING:
play the VHS TAPE CLEANING , FOR clean the sensors, rollers, drum etc.
b) Try it.
c)Otherwise you must go to the repair shop TV for fix it.

Try this to play DVD movies on your PS2 if it wont play DVD movies.
If your PS2 works fine with Games and just wont play any DVD movies at all.Then you should try this trick to play movies on your PS2:

  1. Turn on your PS2 without inserting any disc.
  2. Menu screen will appear like:894e4e5.jpg
  3. Press the ps_b_triangle.gif (triangle) Button to enter Version Information Menu that looks like3aef030.jpg
  4. Highlight the Play Station Driver as above and again press ps_b_triangle.gif (triangle).
  5. New screen will appear like0163e66.jpg
  6. Highlight the Disc Speed as above and press ps_b_x.gif button,to enter Disc Speed Menu
  7. And set it from Standard to "Fast".
  8. After you set Disc Speed to Fast, Press and Hold Reset Button to turn off your console.
  9. Then again Press and Hold Reset Button till the Blue Light turns on.
  10. Remove the Reset Button and Press it again.
Be patient and wait till the movie plays itself.If your lens is good then it will play DVD in first go else try again till it PLAY your DVD movie.

When I try to play a video tape, the screen reads No Disc as if I were trying to play a dvd. If I put in a dvd disc, it will play. How do I go about getting this unit to play video tapes?
Your combo is selected to play dvd. You have to select vcr to play tape?

Sony DCR-TRV460 not playing back, blue screen
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
  1. Stop the tape.
  2. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  3. Play the tape.
  4. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  5. Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
  6. Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
  7. Play the tape.
  8. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  9. Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
  10. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  11. Play the tape.
NOTES:
  • If a blue screen is still displayed, then the camcorder may require service .
  • If the tape plays back correctly, then the first tape may be faulty or there is a problem with the video recording.

I have two different music systems, need answers for if possible,
On the no disc messages, try a cd or dvd lens cleaner which ever is appropriate for the device and also try blowing canned air inside, it can be a dirty lens.

Cannot play DVD's or CD's at all!
Wow, doesnt sound good. My only thought is that on new devices they often have tape and cardboard inserts to protect the device for shipping. Make sure there isnt any tape or packing material stuck somewhere in the device. Otherwise it must just be a bad player. They shouldnt have any problems exchanging it since you just got it. Sounds like a thermal related problem (it's getting too hot). There's not alot you can do since it's likely a design flaw that is at the circuit level.

Tape Loading Error
theres a loading problem with the mechanism. It could be a nylon cam thats cracked and thrown it out of mechanical alighnment??? this is not for the handy man repairer!!! this should be taken to a repair shop for an estimate! as there are hundreds of volts inside a tv that can cause you to be seriously killed!!
