I would not recommend this because it would do nothing to the phone besides make it very hot. and cause the battery to heat up.It could be very damaging to the phone.

Lionel train desk lamp not working consistantly.

There are 6 rubber foot pads that under each one is a screw. I had the same problem and we found out that there were screws under the rubber foot pads. Once we were done we glued the rubber foot pads back on the lionel lamp. (Lionel Train Desk Lamp)

My phone fell in the toilet on friday night and I would like to know if there is a way to fix it before i buy another phone PLEASE HELP!1 :)

One of the best things to do is put it in a bowl of rice right away. The rice will absorb the moisture from the phone.

Take the back cover off, take the battery out (if applicable), and then put the phone in the rice.

Hopefully it is not too late and this will help.

If this has been useful please rate it, thank you!

My sony ericsson c902 was in water for less than 5 seconds. i tried to turn it on after thoroughly drying it with a towel but the camera light came up and nothing else. I have now put it into# a bag of...

Hope you removed the battery and SIM card straight away.
Place the cell phone under a desk lamp for approx. 6 hours so the heat from the lamp can dry out the cell phone. Hopefully this will fix the cell phone, you have a slight chance the cell phone will be OK.

My Sanyo digital camer 6.0 Mega pixels & 3X Optical Zoom came in contact with seawater just for few seconds

Seawater is very bad for electronics. (I'm sure that comes as no surprise!)
I spent six years in the Navy, and we regularly had electronic items that got dropped in seawater. The best solution we found was to remove the battery, drop the unit in distilled water for a second or less, and then let it SLOWLY dry out by putting it under a regular desk lamp, but not too close. I've used this on cell phones with swimming pool water, and it works there also.
Not to discourage you, but this didn't always work. It was a little better than 50/50, but half a chance is better than a broken camera.
Best wishes, and thanks for using FixYa.

Hi, I dropped my mobile SGH-F210 in the water. As soon as it happened I opened and let it to dry. It was working for a few hours but it stopped working. At first it was showing that the battery needed...

Unfortunately, all water - even fresh water - contains salt. And, salt is a very good conductor of electricity.

When cell phones get wet, trace amounts of salt will collect and then dry on the phone's circuit board causing circuits on the board to 'short out'.

We use to repair cell phones with water damage here at the shop. Many times, they would begin to work again - only to become very problematic a few days later.

Keep in mind, even if you pay for your phone to be repaired, chances are it will not stay trouble free for very long.

Your best bet is to replace it. It's better than wasting good money on a phone you'll soon need to replace anyway.

I have an older phone Bellsouth model 8801 wall/desk mount--the caller idea is not working in the handset--is there a battery component to fix it? Thanks

If it's the cordless version, the called ID is supposed to work off the power cell that came with the phone. If it's the corded version, there should be an access door under the base unit (wall/desk mount).

After dropping iphone in water phone is able to charge

Although the rice concept is a good idea, it is unlikely that it has aided in the evaporation of all moisture in the unit. I have fixed a number of 'dropped in water' devices (incl an IPOD nano) and I have followed the same process:
- take the unit apart
- remove battery, clean bat and charging terminals
- remove any connector (document where necessary) and leave out in open air to dry (or use a hair dryer on low setting / under a lamp).
- clean all connectors with rubbing alchohol.
In your case, pay close attention to the cable that supplies the screen and make sure the male and female ends are dry and clean. Also locate the backlight and see if there is any moisture around it.

Display problem on Motorola V170 cell phone

The display should still be there, but the backlight is off. What you need to do is get the display under a bright desk lamp and find the setting to turn the back light back on.

Open the phone, hit the center button between the arrows, find "Settings" with the arrows, press the top left button (thats select, as the hard to see screen says).

Now navigate with the arrows through settings to "Other settings", (hit top left button again), "Initial setup" (button again), "backlight" (again), and choose 20 seconds. Right now it is on "off", which makes it so hard to see.

Hope that helps.
