David, I would put my money on a new power supply board. , be sure u get the #'s off the board itself. there are many such boards and they look alike but they might not work. Just be careful they still carry a Charge and will Zap u .. even thought the Caps don't look blown it could be just one of the legs on the square Cap. just replace the whole board..

It sounds that the main digital board to this TV is faulty. Contact any service technician.

I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the screen is completely black. A blue box appears centrally on the screen with the text 'power saving mode'. The green led light turns amber and then the screen just goes black.

Please don't suggest going to control panel, as I can't get that far.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING give me

I had the same problem. all the service reset would only make the display come on for a few second with no "k" on the screen - only the channel would show up. I purchased a complete set of board for the lcd on ebay, and started swapping them one by one. The inverter boards were the culpret. Tele working 100% since that board swap.

Monitor comes on, I can see everything perfect then goes black

"Most" newer monitors will let you know if the are no longer receiving a signal. Sounds like the backlight is burnt out. Try getting a bright (LED works best) flashlight and shining it at the screen at all angles to see if you can see any of what you were doing. If the backlight is on the fritz, either return it on warranty or buy a new one.

TV Picture Goes Black

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
