After recording, I recieve a toc error c14 when I try to finalize it. How can I fix this problem?

You may well be right. Try a different brand of disc.

Your owners manual (you DID read your owners manual, right?) says the machine cannot read the TOC on the disc.

It might be a disc problem and it might be a deck problem?

Have you tried a different minidisc?

Have you changed any of the SET-UP settings? Take a look at them, too.

Table of Contents errors usually happen if you lose power before the disc is 'finalized' when recording. You cannot unplug the unit before it is done with a disc, or remove it until it is done finalizing. You will see "TOC" flash when you are done recording. When it stops, then you are all set. Try a fresh disc and see if that works.

"If you write data to a disc and leave the session open, the TOC -- which tells the CD player or CD-ROM drive where the tracks are -- is written into a separate area called the Program Memory Area, or PMA. CD recorders are the only devices that know to look at the PMA, which is why you can't see data in an open session on a standard playback device. They are what you call fault codes. A fault code provides a machine-readable identifier that can be used to programmatically identify the error condition and respond as appropriate

The manual suggest vibration may have interfered with the recording for the C13 error.

Check your email for the manual.

When you insert the disc what does the recorder display after it examines it (Reading TOC)? - CDR, TOC, CDR-W, NO TOC?

It should know the disc is not finalized and let you either record more on it or finalize it.

If not, and you need to recover the 4 tracks try loading the disc on a DVD player. My old Pioneer will read unfinalized CDR-A's so I can digitally copy what's on them back to another CDR-A.

Sounds like you lost power when you were finishing recording a disc. On a home unit it got unplugged before you had the TOC written, or on a battery unit the battery died when it was writing the TOC (table of contents) for the disk.
