So this morning I stop to fill up with fuel and I can't put the nozzle in the tank! ... station where their fuel nozzle didn't "fit" the capless thing so the door didn't open. ... You need the Ford funnel. ... Like they're saying, if the pump end isn't big enough it won't hit the latch. ... You'll get the nozzle stuck in the filler.

i would say take it to a mechanic and find out but i would have to say ur take gauge has a loose wire

try not to insert the nozzle all the way in . Pull it back a little.

check the filler neck. the hose may have a kink in it. also check the return line it may be pluged.

Don't stick it in so far.

Check the fuel tank vent to see if it is crimped or bent as not to allow the vent process to occur.

This sounds like the gas tank vent pipe is obstructed.

The fule tank vent tube is blocked/clogged. It's the little hole next to the filler hose that invites spiders that clog it up. Blow out the tube and it fixes the problem.

It is the filler neck it causes splash back.
