HP Photosmart 8450 printer and Vista not compatible.

I have a HP Photosmart 8450 printer and a new computer which uses Vista. I had a tech set up everything and he downloaded an updated driver for the printer. In Microsoft Publisher I use the custom borderless settings for printing greeting cards. This feature is not working with Vista. How can I solve this problem? Thanks.

Hello,
You will need to update your Microsoft Publisher program and you should just update the entire MS Office Suite to be compatiable with windows vista.

Where can I get a windows 10 driver for HP8450 photosmart printer

Most HP drivers are available here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers . Then search for your model. The direct link to the drivers for the Photosmart 8450 is http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-photosmart-8400-printer-series/402149/model/402151#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930C7 . Select your OS version.

The Photosmart 8450 drivers should be found with the new hardware wizard in Windows 10. You'll need to connect the printer to the computer via a USB cable to start. (Make sure that the system is connected to the internet.)

I hope this helps.

After doing a full system restore my HP Photosmart 8450 printer won't print. I use Microsoft Vista.

you may need to re-install your printer drivers. uninstall any old drivers first then re-install the printer. Vista drivers can be downloaded for free from HP.com/support

It says my photosmart 8450 can not communicate with the computer, so I can't see how full/empty my ink is?

you need to re-run teh HP 8450 install again to load the utility that allows you to see the printer cartridge levels.

My HP Photosmart 8450 no longer prints lines, boxes, etc., since I upgraded to VISTA and MS Office/Word 2008. HP says to buy a VISTA-compatible printer...they do not have an updated driver. Any solutions?

You can use the drivers supplied by Windows Vista

Verify that the printer is turned on.
Connect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable to the printer and to the computer.
After plugging in the device, select Don’t show this message again for this device.
Click Continue on User Access Control (UAC) Window.
Go to the Start ( ) icon, click Control Panel , click Hardware and Sounds , and then click Printers .
Click Add a printer .
Click Add a local printer .
Select the Use an existing port check box.
In the Use an existing port drop-down list, select USB001 and then click Next .
Under Manufacturer on the Install the printer driver dialog box, select HP .
Under Printers , select HP Photosmart 8400 series and then click Next .
In the Printer name text box, type the printer name and then click Next . The printer driver starts to install.
When the message You're successful and HP Photosmart 8400 series appears, you can print a test page to ensure that the printer is working correctly and then click Finish .
