Check the Door Latch and Alignment:
Ensure that the door is completely shut and latched. Sometimes, clothing or debris can get caught between the door and the latch, preventing proper closure. Make sure there's nothing obstructing the door.
Inspect the door seal for any damages. A damaged seal might not allow the door to close securely.
Child Lock Feature:
Samsung washers come with a child lock safety feature. If the child lock is engaged, it prevents accidental start of the wash cycle.
Check if the child lock is activated. If so, disable it and try running the wash cycle again.
Motor Control Unit (MCU) Inspection:
Visually inspect the Motor Control Unit (MCU) board for any burned spots. The MCU is located on the left side behind the lower access panel.
If you find burnt spots on the MCU, it might be the cause of the issue. You can order a replacement MCU if needed.
Other Troubleshooting Steps:
Reset the washing machine by unplugging it and then plugging it back in after a few minutes.
If the problem persists, consult a technician to inspect the lock mechanism or control board.
The lock actuator is a soliniod but sounds like your door latch is stuck or rusted on the inside you can try some wd40 inside the latch might help. also check that the child safety switch in the door is not in a middle position it's located on the door latch.
I went out on a service call for this dishwasher yesterday. The complaint was
that the door latch was broken and the child lock light was lit. I temporarily
rigged the latch to work until the replacement part came in but that left me
with the problem of the child lock still engaged. The mini-manual for this dishwasher is located behind the kick
plate. The mini-manual revealed that the child lock (called a control
lock in the manual) can be disengaged by pressing and holding the air dry
button for four seconds. So now the customer can run the dishwasher with the
rigged door latch until I can properly repair it later this week. Hope this works
is it a latched door, if so weather stripping (high density foam) is a good alternative, commonly used on edges of doors, believe it or not that is a door seal just without the cover to make it more pleasing to look at, it comes in various depths, sizes and is normally two sides adhesive. if it is a magnet strip type; pick a side and use it as a strip magnet surface or cover it.
Have exactly the same situation. All the solutions I have seen talk about replacing the hinges or seal. But people report the same thing happens a month later. Looking hard at the door what it needs is something to pull it right at the top. So I installed a rare earth magnet from www.kjmagnetics.com I used part number BX884DCS which costs $4. It mounts with a couple of screws and I put it on the door a couple of inches down from the top. Its possible that heat from the oven will kill the magnet over time but for $4 I can replace it for a lot less than hinges and it works great. The door closes more securely than it ever did when the oven was new. Hope this helps.
