ZEN X-Fi 8GB won't turn on.

My MP3 player had full charge when I went to bed, so I put the speaker on and fell asleep to my music. When I woke up, my battery meter was half-full, and I turned it off. I tried turning it on later that day to check the time, and it would not turn on. I plugged it into my laptop and after that my computer, but neither PC could find the device. I have tried turning it on 3 more times, but have given up. It is currently plugged into my laptop, but nothing shows up on its screen and my computer still won't detect it. Please let me know if I have a fixable solution or if I should get a new one.

Sincerely,
Frank

Tried it, but it didn't work. It just won't start. I held the reset button for 20 seconds, then even tried turning it on afterward, but nothing happened.

I have an older model, and I can't be sure but see if there is a small hole on it somewhere. That is a reset button. Usually a paperclip, bent straight, will fit in the hole. Pressing this button in should reset the player. It should then re-index all your music.

inorder for your device to charge, you must "eject" it via the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray, this is when using windows XP

Zen v plus 8gb

Have you tried updating the firmware of your Zen V Plus? I've had mine for almost an year and haven't had these issues -- I updated the firmware as soon as I unpacked it.

try downloading the
MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?

I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update

Philips GoGear 256Mb problem...

As it is only a week old, if you have followed the instructions exactly the device is probably faulty and should be returned to the retailer.

It is worth noting it isn't a good idea to operate such devices continuously in an insulated environment. If you had it in bed with you or kept it under your pillow it is possible it overheated.
