It sounds like you have some internal component failures in the power module section of the amp. This can only be fixed by a qualified electronics repair engineer. Take the unit to a repair shop for a complete evaluation and cost of repair.

The player is having problems reading the CD. This can be for several reasons. Remove the CD and see if a different one has the same problem. This way you can find out if it’s the player or just the CD. Wipe off the smudges on the back of cd. If cd has too many scratches or smudges it won’t play. There can be many other reasons why it doesn’t play.
if it opens back up when you close it the drawer mechanism is probably out of alignment. Most players have a slot on the bottom of the drawer that a pin must slide in. Look under the drawer and see if there is a pin sticking up that maybe should be in that slot.
First clean the laser head with a Qtip and alcohol. It gotta be
perfectly clean, so wipe with fresh brand name qtip and make sure there
is not a single dust particle on it. You gotta remove the cabinet with
star screwdriver. Your beam might be tired. First try with the clean up! Unplugg before opening!
It is because the AC-90 is not grounded. If you look at the power cable, there is just + and -, no ground/earth.
This is because ground is not usually needed when using acoustic guitars/ mikes. If you use an electric guitar, or a slide, there will be problem.
I have a AC60, that does go to ground. No hum. AC90=hum.
Can probably be fixed by attaching new power cable and soldering earth to the chassis, like on the ac60.
Hello, you can verify that your receiver is working or not. When you are playing a dvd unplug the audio RCA plugs (red and white) from the back of the Sony dvd player. Touch the tips of each of the RCA plugs with your fingertip. You will hear a buzz sound coming from the speaker associated with the plug if the receiver is working\ i.e. touch the red RCA plug tip and the right speaker will hum...touch the white tip and the left speaker will hum or buzz. This will not hurt your system or speaker. If you do not hear the hum turn the volume to 3 or so and wet your fingertip and tap the tip of the RCA connectors. You will hear "pops" coming from the respected channel. I believe your cd\dvd is at fault. Good Luck!
Yes,
The humming is always there you just can hear it better when the cd is playing. The humming is caused by the electrical system in your car. There is an inline filter you can buy and insert it between the car's power source and the head unit. I had a head unit I bought that was absolutly terrible until I installed that filter.
Also if you did a do it yourself job on your amp wiring it is usually best practice to run your RCA cables on the opposite side of the car as your power cable.
You can also purchase shielded spark plug wires which is a source of noise usually of a different kind tho.
First make sure you have a good ground. This means that you have grounded your amp to bare metal not painted metal.
If that didn't work put in the inline filter on the head deck as they are only $20 available at radioshack.
If that doesn't work, go back an wire your car right this time and put the power and RCA on opposite sides of the car.
If you still have that hum it may be the spark plug wires but that sounds more like static than hum.
You have a text book case of alternator hum...
