Battery recognized but wont charge

The computer recognizes the battery and states it is 77% charged. It, however, shuts off if unplugged and the charging light turns off a few seconds after the computer is plugged in. The computer works fine when on AC power

Not sure if it the battery or the charge circuitry.

I have the same problem. Someone told me that it's due to "memory" of battery. But my subsequent research proved that "memory" problem does not occur with my Li Ion battery. I have a feeling that it is not due to battery problem but due to motherboard problem. Motherboard is not able to switch to battery power nor it lets the battery charge.

It may be that you have a bad battery and you laptop may be reading it wrong since the battery may be bad. I recommend calling your pc manufactuer, and have the battery replace

or

you may go to www.circuitcity.com or www.radioshack.com
for a look up on a new battery.

Hope this solves the problem

Battery not recognised/not charging

Turn the computer off, unplug it, take the battery out. Then hold the power button down for 10 - 15 seconds. Plug the ac adapter back in, but do not put the battery in yet. Boot the computer, then shut it back down. Put the battery back in then boot it again. It should recognize the system now.

Its not starting

Plug the drive into a computer and see if it is recognized and charges.
If so wait for it to charge and then:
1. Unplug the drive. 2. Remove the back casing 3. Remove the battery 4. Wait 15 seconds 5. Replace the battery and casing and press the power button.
If the computer does not recognize the MP3 player its days are probably over. If it does not charge the battery is likely broken.

just take the battery out of your laptop and plug it in again. this may help to overcome the problem still.. if you face the problem.. just trying replacing the battery by asking it with some of your friends. and if it works.. buy one for you.

Laptop battery wont charge

Hello,

If you want to make sure of its state, be patient and give it enough time to charge. It might take 3-to 4 hours withe the computer is turned off, and a dozen hours if the computer is beig used. If after a significant number of hours, it is still at 0mAh then either the charging circuitry is defective or it is the battery that is defective (cannot hold the charge).

Hope it helps.

Computer dies FAST when unplugged even though power may register 100% befor unplugging also laptop does not seem to recognize battery properly . battery power goes from 100% to 35% overnight if unplug

You have a dead battery or the charging circuit is faulty. If you have had the battery since you purchased the laptop, then it is worn out and needs to be replaced.

No power

If your battery become too dead the trickle charger wont recognize the battery so it wont charge it. However in that case you just need hook two batteries together to even the charge so it will recognize it. if your battery is truly charged then its a loose wire somewhere or bad switch.
