The selector knob on my Whirlpool LER4634JQ1 does not move, so the dryer will not turn off automatically and no "end of cycle" buzzer sounds. Do I simply replace the timer?

The dryer functions with heat and the drum rotates normally. The start button works normal as well. The issue is that the selector knob will no longer rotate so the dryer will run until the door is opened. It will not shut off or sound a buzzer.

Your timer most likely does need to be replaced. The timer has a small motor that causes it to rotate during the cycle and those can go bad causing the timer to not advance. Unfortunately, you cannot get just that timer motor anymore. Hope this helps!

What is buzzer selector on Philips Series 90 tumble dryer

I think the buzzer selector is a reminder at the end or towards the end of the drying cycle to let you know your clothes are almost done. My friend has a dryer with that in it that allows you to turn it off or keep it on. May not be the same on all but that's what hers does. Hope this helps.

How do you dry clothes in this machine please

A fairly common problem! The official instructions are

Before using your dryer, wipe the dryer drum with a damp cloth to
remove dust from storing and shipping.
1. Load clothes loosely into the dryer and close the door. Do not
pack the dryer. Allow space for clothes to tumble freely.
2. Turn the Cycle Control knob to the recommended cycle for the type of load being dried. Use the Energy Preferred Automatic Setting (,) to dry most heavyweight and medium weight loads. See "Drying, Cycle, and Temperature Tips."
3. Select a temperature setting on models with a Temp/Fabric selector. The cycle descriptions include temperature setting suggestions.
4. Push the START button.

Stopping and Restarting
You can stop your dryer any time during a cycle.
To stop your dryer
Open the dryer door or turn the Cycle Control knob to OFE
NOTE: The Cycle Control knob should point to an Off area when
the dryer is not in use.
To restart your dryer
1. Close the door.
2. Select a new cycle and temperature (if desired).
3. Press START

My washer test runs great I hear every thing working correctly but when I do laundry it doesn't spin. How can I fix this issue. I am getting an error code f7 e1

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

This particular washer has a test that we can run to see any errors. This can be confusing on this model.

I am including a document below that will describe how to view the old error codes. Use the section that starts with Activating the service diagnostic modes. You can start with the cycle selector knob at any position.

  1. Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off).
  2. Perform the following sequence of movement using the cycle selector knob. NOTE: After reset, sequence "a" through "e" must be completed within 6 seconds. When it tells you to rotate the cycle selector knob, it means 1 click, not a full turn. Once you have completed the cycle knob turns reset and "a" through "e", turn the cycle selector 1 click clockwise from the position it is already in. This is the fault code display mode. Then press the start button. Each time you turn the cycle selector knob 1 click clockwise after pressing start will show you an error code. Note: this washer stores 4 codes if any. The error codes on this washer are displayed in this format: F5 E3, F7 E1, etc. There is an error code chart in the image below.

If there are no error codes stored, I recommend that you start from the beginning (step 1 above) and then run the Automatic test mode. If this unit detects a problem, it will display the error at the end of this test.

I hope this is helpful. Post back your results.

If i am getting e68 error can just the button be replaced

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The E68 is indicating a push button is stuck,

To investigate further the console would need to be serviced/torn-down. I'd try the suggested test program first though. To answer your question "can just the button be replaced"...
No unfortunately, The buttons are a part of the entire control behind the console/panel. The test I'm going to post is quite long so I'll post it in two parts.
PART 1

FUNCTION TEST SEQUENCE

1. Press and hold Select and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds to reset the control. The buzzer will sound 1 time and "rES" will be shown briefly in the display.

2. Immediately after, rotate cycle selector knob 5 turns counterclockwise to the second position from the bottom. Press and hold the Options and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds.

The control will enter test mode, the buzzer will sound 3 times and all LED's will rapidly flash. After entering the test mode, the cycle selector knob can now be rotated to select the following tests:

Rotate the cycle selector knob clockwise from the starting position:

0 turns: All LED's will flash.

1 turn: Drive motor runs; heat source is on. Drying LED is lit. "H" and the control thermistor reading will toggle back and forth in the display.

SEE Below for remaining test program instructions...
