Hello Chad;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.
It sounds like you have a bad Warmer Infinite Switch.
Once installed, the switch controls your gas range's warmer drawer element. When replacing your gas range's switch, consider replacing its knob (PartsDirect part number 316442403) if it shows significant wear.
To replace your gas range's warmer infinite switch, pull the knob off the switch and remove the screws securing it. Disconnect any wires running to the switch and take note of those connections. Remove the switch and put the new one into its place, reattaching the wires to the same terminals. Be sure to unplug your gas range before beginning the repair.
Part #: 316095500 Cost: $32.00
It is located on the right hand side of your display panel. You have to remove the side panels screws and control panel back to access.
Testimonial: "Thank you Peter, I apreciate you answer but my range is electric. My range has a small and large element in the same spot. When turn the knob, weather it be lo or med it always on high. It turns on and off but when on its on high."
Hello Chad; I must have been tired when I answered your question as well as misunderstanding the question. So, I also used the term gas when the above is based on your electric range, and also forget the above. Your problem is very common, you have a bad thermal couple on the burner assembly. When the termal couple is bad the communication between the control and thermal couple is wide open. You have 5 burner elements. The cost of these element run between $140.00 and $160.00. Each element has a differnet part number. The left front Part #: 316010206. The left back Part #: 316010205, back centerPart #: 318198804. Back Left Part #: 316010205. Front right Substitution: 316418400
