The IE or E1 error or fault code indicates that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve
If you are trying to use the machine manually, there needs to be enough water in the machine to tell the level sensor when to switch off the water inlet solenoid valve. Failing this, the machine will only show IE (Inlet Error) and refuse to work.

LG Washing machine IE error code Solutions

An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes.

Are the water valves opened completely?

If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

Are the inlet hose filters clogged?

There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly.

Are the inlet hoses attached properly?

If the inlet hoses are not attached to the machine correctly, it will prevent proper water flow to the washer. Turn off the hot and cold water supply then disconnect and reconnect the inlet hoses. Ensure that they are threaded properly. After the hoses have been reconnected, open the water taps completely, check for leaks, and unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle.

NOTE: The inlet filters are inside the hose connections on the back of the washer. Because of their small size, take care when removing and cleaning the inlet filters so that they do not break.

I have a Samsung front loader. It has been stopping with the error code 5E (filter problem ) for a few months now. Turning the machine off then on again after 20min gets it going again. The fault always...

Hello,
The 5E error mean:
Pump won’t empty - not draining
As usual with these error codes for not draining the first thing to do is check the pump filter but, on Samsung washing machines, the drain pump itself is often faulty. You can find how to fix this problem on youtube, just text it "Samsung washing machine 5E error".

If you are getting the IE fault code or error code from your LG washing machine then you need to know why you are getting that code and what do you need to do to fix the problem.

You get this code if you have a LED model

You get this code if you have and LCD model

This error code is caused when the washing machine does not fill up with water in about eight minutes. The washing machine gives its self eight minutes to reach the right water level. If there is a problem that keeps the water from entering fast enough the machine will shut down and give the IE error or fault code.

The most likely problem that will cause this fault or error code is that the water hose screens are plugged with dirt and debris. Most all washing machines have some type of water filter in the hoses or in the machine at the entering point for the water. Dirt and debris will build up in these filters till in restricts the water flow enough to cause this problem.

The other cause for this error is if you happen to reverse the hoses. If the cold water hose is on the hot side and the hot is on the cold side it can also cause to alarm. If the filters look clean then check the location of the hoses and make sure that they are properly connected.

Check that the water valves where the hoses connect to the domestic water supply are on completely. Some valves are difficult to tell if they are completely on or not.

If you need to reset your washing machine fault or error codes you can do this by unplugging the machine and then holding the start/pause button for five seconds. Then plug the machine back in and the code should be removed.

Displaying IE fault code

This is an inlet error. Shut the water valves off and remove the hoses one at a time. Shine a flashlite in to where the hose screws into the machine. Check the filter screens in there for any type of debris. Yiu can remove these filter screens with needle nose pliers. Once they are cleaned and re-installed, try it again. If is still showing an error, you have a connection/valve/or control problem.
