I'm trying to review pictures on my Kodak camera but it keeps shutting off when I try to review them?

I recently sent you a request for this and you sent me an email saying you need more information. I do not know how to be more clear. The camera shuts off when I try to review my pictures. Why does it do this and how can I review all my pictures without it shutting off?

It does have a SD card the Model of camera is the Kodak C195 and it takes two AA batteries. And Yes, It does only shut off when I am reviewing my pictures and I do not have a computer. I am writing this from an IPAD. If there is no way of fixing this problem I will return the camera and get my money back because the whole point it to view the pictures and if I can,t do that then I need to send it back. Thanks for your help

Usually when somebody that is trying to help you, BTW, it's not only one person, and asked you for more information, is really asking for you to give them just about everything relating to the issue. As an example: What type of batteries does your camera use, some camera use two type of batteries, a regular one like AA or AAA, and a flat battery, usually 1023 or something like that, this is to keep the camera info, and not loosing the time, and set up overtime you turn on the camera . Does it have a memory card? Does it shut off only when reviewing the photos? If you were to put all this info, plus the camera model, we could look into it for you. This is the kind of more information the other person was trying to get. As for the issue, all I can advice is, if it have a memory card take it out and insert it in a computer, so you can see the pictures. Best of luck.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the troubleshooting in the Kodak webpage, and I was wondering, doesn't the review just turn black instead of shutting off? If possible, transfer all the photos to a computer or just get an empty sd card, and try again. Sometimes when the sd card is full or damage, all you see when you review a picture is a black screen. (http://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml... ) Sorry my answer wasn't helpful before. Hope this take care of your problem, best of luck.

I just tried putting in a new S d card because I bought two but does the GB on the SD card matter I have put a 4GB in the computer. And I tried a 32GB and the camera wouldn't,t stay on. And I get a black screen but the computer shuts completely off too. Again if there is no solution to this I will send the camera back. How do I do that Do I need a return slip to send it back to Amazon or the Compny?

  • William Alequin Feb 15, 2015

I didn't know it had warranty. This is your best bet. Just log in to your Amazon account, and go to your purchase history or something like that. The had to be something that let you contact Amazon. You should have you purchase numbers or I'd, anything that ties you to the purchase, explain to them the issue at hand, and from here they will tell you what to do. When it comes to warranty and support they are excellent. But do ones more thing, turn the camera off, connect it to the computer, and then turn three camera on, to see what happen. Good luck.

William thank you for all your help, I solved the problem with my camera shutting off when reviewing my pictures. I had put the wrong batteries in the camera. I bought some batteries with a charger and those batteries wouldn't,t work, I Forgot the camera came with its own batteries. Once I put the correct batteries in the camera stayed on while I reviewed my pictures. So thank you so much for your patience with me and for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Will let me review pictures, but when I switch to take pictures it shuts off

Try to check if the memory is already full, delete some files before taking pictures again. or Try to check the battery if fully charged also, review the manual, you might have to review the settings of your camera

Pictures taken can be reviewed in the camera. But,

It's a one way street...from camera to computer...not the other way around. Doing it that way will eventually corrupt the card and sometimes even the camera.

Question : What batteries can I use in my digital camera, and how long do they last?
Battery life depends on how you use your camera, the type of batteries you select, and how you handle the batteries.

Your camera is compatible with: KODAK Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery KLIC-8000 and KODAK CRV3 Lithium Batteries: A non-rechargeable battery. (so your battery might be in need of a change)

Using Your Camera

Some features, such as reviewing pictures and using the flash, require more power than others. Follow these guidelines to get the best use of your batteries:
  • Limit the time your camera is in Review mode.
  • Limit your use of the flash.
  • Use the LCD Dimmer or Auto Power Off features, if available on your camera.
  • Transfer your pictures to your computer using a compatible power adapter, camera dock, printer dock, or memory card reader.
  • Check that the latest firmware is installed on your camera. See Software, Driver & Firmware Downloads.
Handling Your Batteries
  • Wipe the battery contacts with a clean, dry cloth before loading it in your camera.
  • When using your camera in temperatures below 41° F (5° C), carry spare batteries and keep them warm.
  • Do not discard cold batteries that do not work; they may be usable when they return to room temperature.
  • Do not allow batteries to touch metal objects, including coins. Otherwise, the batteries may short-circuit, discharge energy, become hot, or leak.

Pictures turn out pink & with lines in it.It also displays this on the screen when previewing pictures.Old pictures on the memory card still look normal on the screen when reviewing them. The camera...

Try to reformat your internal memory, and then turn On the camera and use the auto mode or smart scene mode. Take a two pictures on a same subject then review the pictures after, now if the two pictures has lines on it and it has a pink in colors it means that the lens of the camera is defective that`s why it will not take a good picture. Turn On the camera then try to press the menu button or review button if the picture or options will not show up it means the LCD is defective, But if your able to view the picture and the menu settings displayed On the LCD ther might be a problem On the shutter or on the lens itself.

Black Screen

I have the exact problem. I came on slowly, some days it would work, some days it wouldnt. Finally i couldnt get it working at all. Sent it back to Kodak as it was still under warranty, the repair center claims it was "physical damage". They admit that the camera shows no evidence of falling or banging but it doesnt matter. The camera was lightly used only by my wife, she took good care of it. I'm currently fighting with Kodak, they are requesting photos from the repair center, so they claim. I think its lost cause, but we'll see.

Difficulty reviewing pictures when camera docked

Had the same thing happen. You must use the arrows on the dock, not those on the camera.
