Replace scanner screen glass

1,Unplug the USB cable
2,Place the allignment paper in the right bottom corner of the scanner glass
3,close the lid
4,Press the Start scan button
You will find the light blinking wait until it completes.
Then connect the cable and the issue will be resolved.

SOURCE: clean inside of printer glass
NOTE: The underneath side of the scanner glass cannot be cleaned on any product. This is unlikely to be necessary and should only be done by an authorized service provider.

as the copier works its not a hardware concern.if the scanneris not found it means the drivers are not installed properly.Try uninstalling the drivers completely from the device manager as well as the printer and faxes and the scanners and cameras(if possible delete the ebtries in the registry as well that are related to the software and the VID and PID keys from there).Then try a plug and play.....see if it works....
