Projector automatically shuts off immediately after turning it on

After I turn on the projector, it begins to work....I see the light projected on the wall....and a couple of seconds later - it shuts down (no light) and green light flashes (red steady on)

I have the same problem except the projector starts it's shutdown process after a few seconds before the lamp comes on. I replaced the lamp and that didn't fix the problem. I am just now searching for another cause/solution.

If your comfortable w/surface mount troubleshooting and soldering, download the service manual from elsewhere online. Part of the troubleshooting tree for this type of problem is to check the surface mount fuses on the underside on the Main PWB (schematic page 1/8). On mine, the 12V surface mount fuse, F3004 (2.3A) was open (quadrant C1 on the schematic). Replaced it, reassembled the projector (3 interlocks don't 'cha know) and it came up just fine.

Epson Projector, Model: EMP-X5, Epson projector shuts down after 30 minutes work

There are several things that can cause this problem, but the first thing I would check is the filter. The projector requires airflow to keep it cool. If airflow is blocked, the projector will overheat and shut down automatically.

I think it is the time to remove the cover and check for air filters blocked with dust.
When this happens, air doesn't flow freely through the projector and result in overheating, which leads to automatic shutdown.

Dear sir , I am connecting my loptop to LCD Toshiba TLP-X3000 projector but project showing a red light and it is not turning on.Pls tell me solution immediately.... Soban

you should try shutting down your laptop, plugging in the interface cable for the projector and then powering on the laptop. This solution works with some projectors and all HDMI computer to External video source connections. (I say all because I have yet to find a combination that this didn't work on for HDMI)

Is the cooling fan working? (If not, then that's the problem).
Check that the intake grid for cooling is not blocked with dust and that it has adequate room to draw in air.
