HEY RODY- YES MOST INFRARED SENSORS ARE EASY TO FIX AND MANY CAN BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ANOTHER,YOUR BEST BET IS TO GO ON LINE W/UNION ELECTRONICS AND DO A SEARCH FOR PARTS ON YOUR MODEL.YOU CAN ALSO CALL A LOCAL TV SHOP AND ASK SPECIFICALLY FOR AN ESTIMATE. JOE TVBB

My Visio E371vl won't power on with remote. I changed batteries & even bought a universal remote & no power on. the new remote works on other Visio TVs. I can turn the tv on with manual controls.

Dear Anonymous,
  • Unplug the TV for 20 Minutes and plug it back.
  • If that does not work, the remote Sensor on your TV is defective.
  • Take it to a repair shop.

My remote control stopped working. Changed batteries and even purchase replacement remote control and still not working

For a universal remote, it will have setup codes for your TV brand. you have to synchronise the remote control and TV with that setup codes. There are some proceedings. Visit this site to get more details. Check this site for more details. "Electro-help" is the site name. Search it by google search. You can locate it, either at the bottom of the first search page, or at the top of the second. It is an electronics equipments repair help site in English.
Check the remote control for its infrared emission first. You can get details about how to check a remote control too from this site. If your remote control is OK, the possiblility is the fault with the remote signal sensor inside the TV. You have to replace it. You can gather these details also from the above mentioned site.

Problem with remote control or TV sensor? (Sanyo lcd32xr8da)

From your detailed description, I assumes that the infrared sensor inside your TV has the fault. This part can be loacated just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. You have to open the TV, and desolder it out from position, note the type used, and repalce it. There are so many types of these. Pictures of some are attached here.

Remote control will not turn the tv on or off and does not work at all. i have replaced the baterries with new ones. i would be willing to buy a new one if available.

Try the link below but if they do not have the original (they nomrally do), do not buy a 'universal' remote without getting model numbers and going to the maker's website to check the code list for that remote and your devices since there is no truly universal remote.

I NEED CODES TO MY WIRLESS CEILING FAN REMOTE

What codes? There are 4 dip switches (see DIP switch wikipedia) inside the remote control and 4 inside the sensor that is inside the fan. They have to be in the same position. If you don't feel like messing with the one inside the fan, keep changing the ones inside the remote. U= Up, D = Down
U-U-U-U, U-U-U-D, U-U-D-U, U-D-U-U, D-U-U-U, U-U-D-D, U-D-U-D, ... D-D-D-D (*There are 16 possible arrangements*) On e of these arrangements will work (has to work) if the remote components are not damaged.
