My vacuum switch does not turn on unless I connect it crooked in the wall. I took the Nilfisk Handel switch apart and didn't see any problems. What happened? And what should I do?

I took the handle of the vacuum apart and saw nothing that was wrong

You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/ServiceNet/Logon.asp You will need to register but it's free. As you know there's not much to the spray function but you should hear a pump running when you push the switch. You may need to clean the dirt bowl & filter for better results this is described in the manual. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

SOURCE: Kirby G6 won't turn on.

If the brushead is removed, there is a safety switch which prevent the machine from operating if the brushead is removed or not installed correctly.Either this switch or the main power switch could be the culprit,as well as the cord.

There is a relay board inside your unit which is most likely bad. If you have the make and model, you can contact me and I can order the board for you(pending your mechanical abilities). If not, contact your local central vacuum installation company. www.thevacdudes.com

A Nilfisk x150 vacuum will not start. Both red lights are on (bag/filter warning?). Installed new bag and filter. Red lights remain on. Can I fix it?

It sounds like there may be a problem with the vacuum's sensor that detects when the bag or filter is full. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the bag and filter: Make sure that the bag and filter are properly installed and not damaged. If the bag or filter is damaged or not properly installed, it can cause the sensor to malfunction.
  2. Reset the sensor: Some Nilfisk vacuums have a reset button or switch that can be used to reset the sensor. Check the owner's manual or the vacuum itself for a reset button or switch and try resetting the sensor.
  3. Clean the sensor: Dust and debris can sometimes accumulate on the sensor and cause it to malfunction. To clean the sensor, turn off the vacuum and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Locate the sensor and use a small brush or compressed air to carefully clean it.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that the sensor itself is damaged or malfunctioning. In this case, it may be necessary to have the sensor repaired or replaced by a professional.

My Nilfisk GU305 cuts out after a few minutes use

You are probably right. There is not enough air flow around the motor. It uses the air from the vacuum as the cooling air.
There is a secondary filter after the first filter bag. You may think the bag is not full and don't think you need to change. Sometimes the material you vacuum is so fine that it will clog the filter bag. I've done it vacuuming sheetrock sanding dust. Then just below the main filter is the secondary filter. Depending on the age and amount of use, there could be other problems. Motor brushes about to fail. A wire connection that separates as temperatures rise. Then reconnects when "cool". Plug end may be a problem. Its connection to the switch. The switch it'self could be.

Cable will not retract

If you are having problems with a NIlfisk King cord reel it will either be that the cord is simply dislodged or the retract could be faulty. I have made a video showing how to pull it apart which could be used as a reference to diagnose the issue.
If you need a new retract we have these available online as well, the part number is 22352606 Nilfisk King Cord Rewind

Brushes wont turn on shampooer

Dear Momneville
I have the same steamcleaner and had the same problem, I took mine apart a found a clog between the turbine and the wheel that the turbine moves by vacuum when it gets glogged there is no vacuum to move the wheel. If you are not mechanically inclined in suggest you do not take it apart unless you think you can get it back together properly.

Hope this helps
