My zune will not turn on it seems like there is a light on e.g. a back light but it wont turn on even when it is connected to the computer and my devise cannot be found. i have had it about a week i have used it before and it worked fine. but when i did plug it into my computer some instructions came on the screen of my device but didnt understand them
I turned on my Zune and the screen froze so I turned it off but it would not turn back on.
I went online and read somewhere that if the screen freezes then you should press up and back and wait for the zune insignia to come on. Well my zune was not just frozen it would not go on but I tried the up and back thing and it worked. it took about 9-13 seconds but it worked so give it a chance and if that doesn't work try charging it overnight. Hope that helps :D
All you have to do it press the up and back button while plugging your zune into the computer. Than unplug it and plug it in again.. Just keep plugging and unplugging it in until it works again. I had to do it 3 times before mine worked again.
If your zune shuts off the second it is disconnected from a power source it could be due to a bad battery. Another possibility is the internal battery cable has become disconnected from the inside. This could happen if you dropped the zune or if you like to go jogging with it etc. I am currently in the process of fixing two 30GB zunes myself. You can order replacement batteries off of Ebay for around 8 dollars, and you can find instructions to take apart the Zune on YouTube. If you are seeing weird instructions on your screen, that means you need to install the Zune software, and perform a software update. You can manually erase your Zune 30GB if you push and hold the Back button, the Left click, and the Center (enter) button all at the same time. This will fully erase your Zune though! Good luck

but it will work ,, if you have seen the symbol of battery chargin then you re close to the final result,, just screw that zune in n out.. ha ha ha ..

I left my Zune connected to the PC which was powered, the following morning it started working and is still working

WTF I loaded the zune 3.1 and now the zune took a fat dump on me. The black 80gb plastic **** box wont turn on and I got it 5 days ago. I dont know what to do. What ever you do, dont buy Microsft. Ok so my zune will not turn on. I'll hit the play button and the Zune screen will flash then it'll shut right back off. However if i plug it into my computer it works and then as soon as i unplug it it shuts off again. I've tried charging it completely and my software is up to date so.. Now what?????
Ok so I tried everthing that was suggested.. it wont reset or anything.. now it wont even turn on when I plug it into my computer.. when plugged in The Zune will show the load up screen then shut off.. it does this repeatedly. but still nothing.. Any other suggestions?? or should I trash it and get another one?

Every once in a while my zune will turn on while connected to my computer but as soon as its connected for a little while or i unplug it the zune will shut off! Sometimes my zune will only turn on when its completely dead and plugged into my computer but sometimes it woon even turn on then!
