Question about GE GSH25JFR Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

GE GSS25LGMBCC Top of freezer is above freezing.

Top of freezer is above freezing. Rest of freezer and refrigerator seem to work OK. Seems like I used to hear a louder fan when closed the door. I don't here this anymore.

Why doesn't my Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer freeze food?

The compressor could be failing, especially if it was running when the power outage occurred.

Why isnt the top part of my Daewoo FRS-U20BG larder fridge/freezer working although rest of freezer seems ok?

Is it just the freezer section? Open the freezer door for a minute and then, without shutting it, press the button on the inside that makes the light go out. The fan at the back at the top of the freezer should start whirring. This circulates the freezing air. If it doesn't start then that's your problem as the freezing air isn't getting to the top of the freezer. It's simple enough to replace. Buy a new part (30 pounds?) and replace from the inside by removing the back panels to the freezer. Turn the freezer off and unplug first though, obviously! Hope this helps.

How so get the fan uptop in the freezer compartment to work, seems the fridge is working, the compressor turn on and the everything freezes and the lower section of the fridge does not cool.

You will need to unplug the wire connector to the fan motor and check for power, you should have 120 volts when the fan is in running mode. To get it running mode turn the cool to the coolest setting when opening the freezer door tape or hold the door switch closed fso the fan will try to come on. If the fan has power but does not come on replace the fan motor. Here is a link that should help

Maytag MTB2156GEW Freezer works but refrigerator (lower part) not

Is the freezer fan working ? Is there frost on the rear wall , inside the freezer section ? If frost , in the middle of the control panel , you will see a hole slightly larger (1/2 " ) . Insert a screwdriver slightly into this hole and turn slowly until you hear a click slightly louder than the rest . Once you hear this click , stop . The freezer fan should be off ( you set it into the defrost cycle ) . Close the fridge door . Using a short extension cord with all 3 wires split (without bare wire showing) check the amps . 2 to 5 amps is good , this would indicate the heater and bimetal are good , also , indicates that the timer is probably bad . If you get no reading on the amp meter , then either the bimetal or heater is bad . Remove the inside rear freezer panel . Trace the heater wires (1 on each side) and disconnect . Useing an ohm meter , or beep meter (tells continuity) , test the 2 heater wires for continuiny . No continuity , replace the heater
pt # 61002046 . If continuity thru heater , then bimetal is bad (small disk clipped onto the coils , with 2 wires attached . Pt # 61005254 .

Refrigerator is freezing at the bottom and 60 degrees at the top

probably the fan is not running
take the fan housing off and you may find a buildup of ice preventing the fan from running
