When the "no detailed maps found that support routing" screen comes up it covers any of the icons, so I'm unable to do anything.

Screen says there are no detailed maps found that support routing

If your gps receiver says there are no detailed maps found that supports routing, do not panic, it is a minor problem that can be solved by either reseting the gps receiver. If reseting the gps does not solve the problem, then it means you will have to back up your maps, format the gps receiver and restore your maps back on the gps receiver.

My Garmin will not bring up eny maps . It just brings up no detailed maps found that support routing.

Garmin nuvi says, "no detailed maps found to support routing."

I am very sorry to hear that you are having problems with the unit. You
may need to switch the unit on and press and hold the centre of the
screen until the message ?No detailed maps? message disappears.

If your map detail is missing, then the map information may have been
disabled. To check to see if the mapping has been disabled, follow the
steps below:

From the Where to? and View Map page, touch the Spanner icon, settings
(Tools).
Touch Map.
Touch Map Info.
The unit should display the name of the map that is loaded to the unit.
The box in front of the map name should have a tick in it. If it does
not, touch the box to place a tick in it.

Then please test by searching for an address.

Error message on screen (read message below)

Did you tried to update your Maps? There are two maps inside your Garmin. Basemap which covers all highways and major roads and mapsource source which cover regular streets. Try reloading mapsource maps.

From the "Where to" menu select the little wrench and then select map and then select Map info. What does it say for Map Info?

If the unit is still under warranty, call Garmin and get a RMA. Return the unit to Garmin.
