Once you start installing Windows 7 from your disc, you will be able to erase Ubuntu simultaneously. To know how it works, you can refer to the following link:

The following link can be helpful while installing Windows 7:

Assuming you have your windows 8.1 on disks, make sure your HP is set to boot from disk and put disk in and boot your computer up. The windows install should start and you can choose to delete Ubuntu and install windows. Remove any partitions that it displays and choose to install windows on the entire disk. After that just follow the prompts and windows will install.
Download ubuntu iso from www.ubuntu.com and burn to a cd or usb. You can choose either a 32-bit or 64-bit iso from the website and before choosing, check if your windows is 32 or 64-bit in "System" under "Control panel". When you boot from the cd/ usb you will get to the install interface where you can choose to install ubuntu along windows. Then you can choose how big you want your ubuntu partition to be and that's it - the installer does the rest of the work. You can now choose between windows or ubuntu at every start up.
If you erased the Windows partition when you installed Ubuntu you will need to re-insert your Windows Vista disc and reinstall Windows over Ubuntu using that, This will only work if you have enough keys remaining on your Windows Vista License, however. Hope this helps.
It has the latest mouse driver (logitech setpoint 4.0). Before installing Ubuntu the setup worked w/ SUSE/XP using GRUB dual boot. After installing Ubuntu XP does not see the usb mouse. Even Logitech setpoint does not have the mouse setup/configuration option. It appears that at boot it does not recognize the mouse or disables it. The BIOS has the usb keyboard and mouse enabled. Currently, I have two mices one for xp and either mouse will work under Ubuntu.
Nice to see more people using Linux and Ubuntu. For information on how to share your Ubuntu folder to linux, over file sharing click here
You basically only need to right click the folder you want to share, in Ubuntu, then enable sharing and when prompted to install services, tick the box called 'Install Windows network support'
Hope this helps.
ps: if you haven't seen the Ubuntu community documentation, click here
