If this message appears when you turn the printer on it will need a repair, this will be down to a sensor fault.
If this message appears when you try to print Check you are using the correct paper type and size settings, on the printer if being used standalone or via the printer driver if using via a computer.
Also try using a different paper type and brand ideally Epson paper as it is an Epson printer. If the fault continues the printer will need a service.
As this printer was released this year you should be covered by some form of warranty, contact Epson for a service.

Welcome to FixYa.

Open the Automatic Document feeder and look for any paper left inside. If you forcefully removed the paper without opening the feeder, a mechanism could possibly occur in which case, servicing the printer is the best option.

Press OK, YES then OK to clear the jam message.

Note: For Legal Size paper, load up to 10 sheets only. For Letter Size paper, you can load up to 30 sheets. This is to prevent paper jams.

Thank you for using Fixya.

The auto paper feeder does not have a paper jam, it will start to take a sheet in, but then it stops, and makes an awful grinding sound

You need to very carefully check entire paper path in the machine - sure that if you do so, you will come across something that is responsible for the condition alluded.

If you don't and the condition persists , then you definitely have a mechanical issue with your printer.
