Improper storage (I've done it too), usually means that the batteries have become too hot - and
therefore weak. The first thing I'd try is changing the batteries.
The 635nm laser operates on (4) AA batteries, and the rotary uses (1) 9V battery.
The online reviews for this a horrifically bad - see:

SOURCE: robotoolz RT-7201 stopped working. Lazer

Try putting it in a freezer for at least 45 minutes. For some reason the diode seems to respond to the condensate, and it keeps working even after it thaws. This worked for two laser diodes on my 5 point Stanley Fat Max after trying everything else.

SOURCE: The batteries in my RT-3610-3 RoboToolz were corroded so I toke them out but now the new ones don't work. How can I get it cleaned up so that it will?

Open it up and clean the battery acid from all areas!

My Robotoolz : RT-7210-1 was stored improperly and now the lazer beam is dim and hard to see in bright sunlight... Could really use info on repair or info on a place that can repair it for me.

Uno.comi have a robolaser level rbo1001 that dosnt work. put in all new batterys. worked great for 10-11 yrs now nothing. light or rotation.b

I have a Porta-Cable,I found that the clicker's battery always had a bad connection so I put packing around it and it has worked so far. I've also found that the first time moisture hit the thing the spread lazor lost it's power. If yours worked for 10 years, then it already paid for itself.

I have a RoboToolz RB01001 rotary laser. The green light comes on for approximately 2 sec. then goes out and the unit does not function at all. It has very little usage and has been cared for, never tossed...

That's usually a battery problem either in the laser unit or the remote control. The battery in the remote tends to disconnect if bumped. A small piece of foam pad at the bottom of the battery can fix that.
