Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.

SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer

kuki, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse is blown, it will rotate but will not heat. If your dryer front has a lower panel, the fuse will be in front behind the blower housing. If not, it will be in back just like this pic. Ohm it out or jump it out temp to see if that is the problem. Post back, Catriver

SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer not heating

GAS DRYER, NO HEAT. CHECK THE HEAT SETTING FIRST.
IS IT ON AIR FLUFF? I'M NOT BEING SMART, BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MANY CALLS I TAKE THAT ARE ON AIR FLUFF. SECOND, LISTEN FOR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER. IF YOU HEAR IT, LOOK IN THE INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE DRYER, OR REMOVE THE TOE PLATE TO VIEW THE IGNITOR. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS AND THEN CLICKS OFF BUT NO FLAME, YOU HAVE A BAD SOLENOID ON THE GAS VALVE. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS, BUT NEVER CLICKS OFF, THE RADIANT SENSOR ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE BURNER ASSEMBLY IS BAD.

IF YOU DON'T HEAR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER, THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS THE THERMAL FUSE LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE DRYER DOWN NEAR THE EXHAUST DUCT. IT IS A SMALL WHITE ITEM ATTACHED TO THE EXHAUST DUCT WITH TWO WIRES ATTACHED.

SOURCE: no heat, dryer exhaust vent cleaned, still no heat, gas line is on

I think you have a gas dryer, and a bad ignitor.

Recently purchased a kenmore electric dryer. My close are not drying need 2 or 3 cycles. We cleaned the duct to make sure no lint build up but I am using my previous duct could this be my problem

Make sure venting is clear in hose inside and outside of house. Also be sure there are no kinks in venting inside house behind dryer as you push dryer up against wall. I would definitely change out inside vent with new.

Why doesn't my Kenmore 110 98575120 dryer heat up?

Hello,
Most likely the thermal fuse is bad. Here' the part as well as a video of how to check it. http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b6p17/Kenmore-Washer-Dryer-Combo-Thermal-Fuse/3399849/527775?modelNumber=110.98575120&ss=a17b6d170762&mr=1

You'll need to remove the back panel of the dryer to get to it. It'll be located on the outlet duct neat where the hose hooks up. Don't forget to clean out the vent all the way to the outside. Poor airflow is why they fail. If your vent is clear than replace the t-stat on the heat element as well as the fuse.
Hope this helps. Good luck,
John

Kenmore Elite Oasis ST electric dryer does not heat

You need to replace the heating coil that is usually the problem when you get air and and the tumbler is moving but no drying you can also check the lint catcher and clear out your dryer outgoing vent remove the hose check the dryer vent where the vent hose is connected and the vent going outside the house before changing the heating coil .

I have a Kenmore 600 series gas dryer it has stopped heating. When you first turn it on it heats right up like it should then after jus a min the heat stops and it wont blow any more heat what could it be?

The majority of the time this problem is because the dryer vent is plugged. Remove the vent hose or pipe and clean it out, removing all lint buildup. Check the damper door where the dryer vents outside for obstruction. Make sure your lint filter and the area it goes into are clean as well. This will fix the problem 9 times out of 10.

Kenmore Elite Clothes Dryer working but not drying

First take dryer vent hose off and check for a plugged vent, clean it all out. There is either a clamp on the hoses you take off by prying or with a screwdriver, should be two one at the dryer and one at the vent to exit the house, also make sure that there is nothing blocking the door on the vent that exits the house sometime animal like to build nests there. If this does not fix the problem it could be the heating element in the dryer, sometimes it is cheaper to just replace the dryer than the element

HI, Check the following to address this issue further.

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task. The blower housing should be disassembled, and cleaned in this case.

2. Thermostat(Secondary Cause)- Highly unlikely in your case, but possible
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat. These thermostats are located in the dryer vent duct and sometimes mounted on the blower assembly as well.

Not drying clothes - have heat and tumble but probably not air Kenmore 80 series dryer.

Your vent is clogged. Remove hose from back of dryer and wall. vacuum out back of dryer, dryer hose an vent pipe in wall, if it goes out at roof you will need to clean out. Moisture from dryer is getting caught in excess lint trapped in vent causing dryer not to dry.

Dryer is hot, clothes arnt getting dry. blower? less that 1 year old Kenmore

Remove the vent hose from the dryer and dry a load of clothes . If they dry , then dryer is pushed too far back , kinking vent hose , or the vent from the dryer to the outside is blocked somewhere . A dryer either heats or doesn't heat (except for maytag associated dryers ) in which the blower wheel could be stripped out . But Kenmores don't have blower problems .
