Either the card is locked into protect mode or it is very large memory.maybe too large for the upper limit of camera.if there is nothing on the card you wish to save ....try formatting on computer to FAT32 first and check fix errors...then put it into camera and reformat. If it still won't format on the camera try downloading a small free utility from HEwlett Packard.google HPusb utility .this program not only formats any file system on cards that have errors or become unreadable.it will give you an option to alter block sizes in the event someone altered the file structure on a unusual device.hope this is of help...please vote.thankyou.

I need to set up the card on my Olympus C-5060 camera. When I choose the format button, it just beeps forever.

1. Power the camera off and remove and replace the card several times.
2. Recheck.
3. Put in another memory card and check.

If the recheck (2) does help, it may be dirty contacts.
If another memory card has the same issue, the camera needs repair.

How do i format the memory card on the kodak easy shareDX7590. I just bought and inserted a knew kodak 8 gm memory card and it says it need to be formated and i do not know how and have pushed all the...

To format a memory card, press the MENU button, use cursor-up/down to select Settings, press the OK button, use cursor-up/down to select "Format," and press OK.

The DX7590 works with MMC and SD cards. It does not work with SDHC cards. If you mean an 8GB card, then that's an SDHC card and will not work with the DX7590. The camera is limited to cards 2GB and smaller.

This usually happens when the wrong type of card is inserted. For example, your camera takes SD cards. If you try to use an SDHC card, the camera cannot work with it and just stalls.

When i try to format the SDHC 8GB memory card the recording screen display's (Waiting....) for about 1 to 2 second's, then goe's to the normal recording screen and when i push the record button it...

Hi, look here's what to do, get yourself, or access to, A Computer, and a USB SD card reader, now, insert your 8GB SD card into the reader/writer, It will show up as a HDD in My Computer, and then, Format it FAT32. Now return it to the Camcorder, when turned on again, the Camera NOW should "See" the SD card. You may even be asked if you wish to Format, again, say YES, and do so, if NOT asked that;s OK too. as, you should now be able to, in either case, be able to have access to the SD card, and can change your phone settings accordingly, the extra storage will simply be "Picked Up" by the Camcorders software.
If this doesn't happen, then there maybe a problem with THAT SD card or the Camcorder? try another SD card before thinking the camcorder has a problem though.

Memory card format.

The Polaroid PDC 700 digital camera accommodates an optional, Type 1 ATA compatible CompactFlash memory card up to 48MB. When an unformatted memory card is installed in the camera, it is automatically formatted when the camera is powered on. WARNING: Once you format the flash memory or format a memory card, all images are erased and cannot be retrieved - they are gone forever! Before you format (erase) the flash memory or format a memory card, transfer the images to your computer.

Cards not working with camera

If you used the SD/MMC memory card in another brand of camera or device, you may need to format the card in your new EasyShare digital camera. (You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
